Flowering clones very early is probably the best way to pack a small tent.

I have a 2 X 4 space with lots of vertical. 8 to 10 plants in #2 nursery pots.
So I would say 4 -5 plants topped, flip at 1/3rd of the height of your vertical limits.

The way to max yield is quick turn over. As soon as one crop is done, have clones ready to go. New crop every 65-75 days.

You don't have to really top at all in SCROG if you don't want to. Just keep tucking the growing tips under the net as they get long enough, until the net is full. Then flip to flower. Recommend a sativa dominant strain for SCROG as they stretch more. I have had issues trying to SCROG Indica dominant strains due to short distance between nodes.
So I have to put the pot in a corner and full fill the net... Ok..
And about SOG how many plants in 2'x2'? And if I want to do in DWC?
One of my tester tents is a 2x2, running 2 324qb led's turned down to 125w total during bloom and 1 120qb for veg. Usually I run 9 plants in 1 gallon pots untopped and hit between 120-150grams total but I'm not trying for yield just looking through genetics to run in larger rooms.
You run 9 plants from seeds? How many veg?
Yeah from seed, sucks to run new genetics in main rooms to find nothing worth keeping and have to put out lower grade product so I use small tents now to try out new strains. I veg them until I can take a clone off them then flower them. The quantum boards being flat and low wattage gives me extra height and with 2 boards during bloom there's no dark spots in there.
Only reason im using 2 boards turned down is i had them sitting around not being used. 1 qb288 will work great depending on spectrum. What spectrum is yours? Do you plan on using that board for veg and bloom?
If i had to pick out of the options you listed id do 4 plants in 2 gal pots. That way plants dont get quite as tall and have more of a variety to smoke when done.
I've v2 rspec so 3500k with red osram led...
Yes 4 plants is a way, but I don't think is better way for yields...
Maybe 2 with topping and LST would produce more or not?

Dude if you are growing for yield time is a factor unless you are just planning to do this trick once. What are you gonna do, waste 5 weeks vegging seeds every time? The good old genetic lottery, from all these shitty pollen chucking breeders with their 30 fake strains on offer? For years and years upon years, all the illegal cash croppers here have used SOG. they would put 5*5 or 6*6 clones in your area. Or at least 4*4 so 16 minimum
edit: of course that requires some other space for mother plant and clone, which we don't know is possible for you. I guess maybe not. So these words were useless. -- If you're planting seeds, just blast them with light and grow them in coco or water with CO2 to maximize yields, there's not really a science to it IMO, just common sense. The limit on yield is decided by the plant's genetics anyway.
The only other thing I can think of that has not been mentioned is a vertical grow... then, you have a 2ft * (height of tent) area to work with instead of 2*2.

I’m running a 2x2 tent as well. I vegged 5 plants for about 6 weeks with Fimming and LST. Plants turned into monsters. As they are flowing now, multiple tops everywhere. Looking at 10+ oz possibly. Also just started the next batch(only 4 seeds) this time and they will veg in my closet until the flower tent is vacant and then I’ll start next group of seeds. Grow perpetually!
