Yeah it's crossed to skunk, I think I have a few beans at home but I've never found the time to test them.
Nirvana used to be a great resource though, after Wernard and Positronics went bankrupt back in the days, many of their genetics went to Nirvana and the other ex-Posi workers. So they could have had great genetics first hand!
Nirvanas Maui is great I can't see any sk in it looks very sativa , grows like a Christmas tree with long branches nice uplifting sativa high. This is my second season growing her she's lovely IMO
I grew once Original Hawaiian Maui Waui Skunk by High Quality Seeds.
Uplifting high, good resin production and nice packed up buds.
No skunk in smell and taste - mine was rather floral perfumed herb.
Sativa dominant plant.
I grew some Puna this year that turned out real fine!
Sweet smelling and tasting, like raspberries. Turned deep purple.
One plant was done at end of May! It was more indica and wasn't great.
But the second one went thru Oct. and was as I described, more sativa like.
I grew Nirvana’s Hawaiian Maui Waui outdoors last year at 40N, didn’t finish. I crossed it to an MNS Spice male and grew it out this year and got a better finish, the Spice brought down the flower time considerably…or should I say helped initiate flowering much earlier. It retained much of the Maui smell, I didn’t notice any skunk in the Maui Waui but only had the 1, I did notice a hint of skunk in the crosses though. Not sure if it was coming from the Maui Waui or the Spice.
Here are some crappy pics, 1st is the Maui last year 10/20, 2nd is the Maui x Spice this year 10/8.
Mr.greengenes Cherry Bomb is a legit maui wowie line that he maintained since the seventies. it was actually DNA tested by some college boys and came out as a descending from a 70's hawaiian mother. - check the maui wowie thread in strains and hybrids.
sadly i heard that Mr.Greengenes had passed away a few months ago. (EDIT: i was told wrongly he is still very much alive! )
he sent me some Cherry Bomb seeds a few years ago, i used it in my Cherryjuana cross.
I plan to do a maintenance run with my remaining seeds at some point soon and i'll probably send some in to the bay, ive had quite a few requests for the pure Cherry Bomb
