Mass Power usage in minnesota 5000kwh

Anyone know what a safe amount of power to use is? Is 5000kwh per month a lot? Should it raise any flags? Any one with experience?

3500w of lighting in a lived-in house had me in the mid-$300's per month. Nobody cared until 5-0 got a tip. I was like 6x average but I swear that was misleading. Not sure who the hell is getting by on $50/month for electric, much less as the average in my neighborhood. How abnormal it is really depends on where exactly you are located, but 5kw is going to add up to a fairly high residential usage.

Power company's sell power.
Period.
Just pay the bill. (On time)

Who is to say u starting welding as a hobby??? Thats 50 amps. And so are 12 one thousand watt lamps running at 240 volt.

They sell, you buy.
Id be more worried about the smell.
Just my 2 cents

Good info. That's what I've always heard. Pay online on time and never a prob. Ran 500 a month last year with no prob just wanted some 2 cents
