As long as you have a prescription for it, you should be good, but you should double check with you po. Now if you don't, that is where problems might arise, and they would treat it like you where either A)abusing prescription drugs, or B) on the reefer(which is the more likely of the two), and put you down as failing your test. If you haven't done your first tet yet, one thing you can do is consume as much pot as you can stand, so the first test will come back as a loaded with thc as it can be, then you will have a longer window to piss dirty in( I know, it won't cover 5 years, but hey, at least it is better than completely stopping smoking all at once).
IIRC they can tell the difference with a higher quality test than they normally use. OP should research that to make sure he isn't blindsided.
Good luck finding a doctor to prescribe even though it's schedule 3. Only doc I could find willing to prescribe for me was a fellow named Dr Lester Grinspoon, but he was in Boston and I wouldn't be surprised if he's retired by now.
