Marijuweed for pain

ok, so in another thread i pointed out that i broke my foot. the heel to be exact.. this shit truly sucks.. but anyhow, i figured i'd smoke to help numb the pain a bit and pass the time as im "resting" my foot (stuck in this hellhole of a pit i call my bedroom).

it soon dawned on me that the weed wasn't really helping the pain at all. to my dismay, the high actually had the opposite effect and helped me shed some more light on the pain eminating from mah foot. the pain wasn't really any worse or better, but i tend to concentrate on things alot more when toasted.. so the fixation on the pain at every step was causing it to move from the backround of my conciousness to slapping me in the face.

i was told this herb was sour D, although much doubt has arisen.. seems too heady to me. should i get some more indica heavy shit or am i just insane?

most sativas IME don't help all that much with pain. Get yourself some near-pure indica and you will feel a lot less pain.

Sorry if this is off topic.

I wish I could give my dad weed because he always complains about his back pain and his restless nights...IDK it just hurts inside to see him suffer when there is such a simple solution, yet I know if I ever mentioned it....yea lol.

Weed will help with more dull...chronic-type pain--
Sharp Pain, on the other hand...tends to be amplified-- :joint:

Thats an astute observation,I've found the erbal can amplify some negative physical and mental/emotional infirmities.

indeed its all about the indicas IME also. I remember the first time i realized it when i was waiting in line years ago for a concert new years eve in seattle and somebody next to me scored some herb from this grungyXhippie guy lol with the duffle bag style backpack and yea so the guy next to me get some super dense blueberry and we blazed a bowl in line and my feet had been aching from standing in line in the same spot for so long and i serioiusly felt lifted like a weight had be lifted from my feet. it was nice
:rasta:

so thats the long short story

im stoned :muahaha:

It could be Sheriff he has the knowledge and common sense to understand the dangers of opiates and that they should be only considered as a last resort.I'd try every strain in the book then go see a voodoo doctor first.Really folks,my moderate back pain and my dopefiend attitude caused me decades of self abuse, you might want to try anyhting else first. You are looking at a couple months of owwie ooch ouchie, a retarded reason to even consider opiates IMO

i think he meant like prescription pain killers... by that.. I'd go with weed before that though.. nice heavie.. indica.

I meant like prescription painkillers as thats where it starts for a large segment of the opiate addidicted population.Anyway just responding to a comment, this threads about the erbalization of pain lol,no further comments on the danger or lack thereof concerning opiates are needed I think.

If I get an operation of break something damn sure I'm getting pain killers! To tell someone to suffer thru intense pain is rediculous.

well american, although i do understand where you're coming from.. a few opiates coming my way wouldn't be the end of the world :sasmokin:

what are you gunna do with 30 little tylenol 3's? shit (besides kill your pain), thats what. you cant hardly get addicted in that short of time. and if you do, well thats crazy and I never heard of that happening before.

would a poppy head tea be more appropriate? you can sometime purchase pods at floral shops (as they go very well in flower arrangements), its not prescription and its natural...

I'm glad you folks dont know or havent experienced anyone starting with something like percocet leading to years of abuse, its been all to common among my family and friends.I didn't get a feeling of "intense" pain in his post,if thats the case by all means don't suffer."Pain management" has become an evil legal industry in my neck of the woods,so my opinion may be biased from the start.I've heard so many times that erb is effective for pain but its never done a thing for my aching back except sometimes make me more aware of it.Just unlucky I guess

I broke my hand not to long back and was smoking like a mad man. I found that it helped take my mind off the pain but if I bumped my hand or something I sure as hell felt it. I am unsure what I was smoking, Im thinking it was a indica strain. It was compressed brick weed(nasty shit).

well technically the pods are illegal as the whole plant is. so careful with that, it just such a common and beautiful flower than many old ladies still have them in their gardens all the time (can you believe they are felons as well?) so law enforcement usualy turns a blind eye to that sort of thing (even the pods being sold online, because really they are used for floral arrangements)

and american, i do understand what you are saying but really getting a few tylenol 3's and doing a cold water extraction (dont want no acetaminophen in there) just to kill your pain aint all that bad. 30mg of codeine, or 60mg a day wont get you addicted to them in a week. if it did it wouldnt be perscribed so much for minor pain. and yea stay away from the really potent opiates, use the real stuff if its an option or atleast one of the naturally made chemicals, codeine, not hydro or oxy or anything (at least for something like a broken bone/minor surgery/stiches/w.e)
cannabis only kills the pain on the inside for me. never found much physical pain relief from it either...
its just usually when you go to the doc with a broken something they will help you with the pain so i was wonderin why be with pain if there is a simple solution...

I'm sure that if I broke my ankle I'd be in serious pain. I pulled a tendon and it hurt like crazy. Everyone's pain tlerance is different. Some people really don't have much interest in pills other than for pain management. I've never had any interest in taking pills recreationally. Never done E, nothing. So I highly doubt I'm prone to addiction. I smoke a j or two a day. I don't even drink. Not everyone is at high risk like you like to portray. If, in the future I do become addicted to pills, I will personally apologize.

I agree with KharmaGirl on that one, it all depends on the person and if they have a habit of becoming easily addicted.

I feel your pain fr33th3w33d, I crushed a bunch of bones in my right foot and tore pretty much every ligament in it as well in June from a skydiving accident(still healing, being held together by hardware). I was on morphine for 5 days before I got into surgery, and was taken off the morphine 3 days after surgery and given a prescription for percocets that would last me 2 weeks after I got out of the hospital.

I just couldn't bring myself to take the percocets, they just made me feel like poop. No amount or type of weed could dull any of the pain either I found, and T3s didn't do a thing. So I just put up with the pain until it went away. Now all I have to look forward to is the pain I have to deal with when they take all the hardware out of my foot in a month.

...Anyways, I hope you heal up fast and strong fr33the3w33d, take it easy!
