Its a damn shame, but this was in Cannabis Botany 25 years ago. Clarke saw it possible and potential then.

*edit* Just realized time has indeed happened and it was longer than 25 years ago.

Not sure where to place this, at the Emerald Cup yesterday there was a guy in a banana suit standing on a couch or table shouting out who wants to smell my bananas, 26 an eigth. Commercialization at its finest :tiphat:

Random philosophical tangent on the patent thing - any time spent in a lab, that is to say behind a fume hood or computer screen, is time that may potentially be spent cultivating cannabis, or consuming it for that matter. The same can be said for filing patents instead of volunteering at a homeless shelter. More than one way to phrase this idea for clarity.

Suppose there is a line of patients that need (your) meds plain and simple. You are asking to form a line for money handout or die with no meds? Or form a line to receive meds? The room of investors, has a correlate, a group who could use medicine for themselves. Ask an economist where this money is supposed to come from, better yet ask if they will evaluate and provide an opinion for you without charging for it.

Something something about the largest consumers (of cannabis) have no money for all intents and purposes, quote Gypsy Nirvana you are trying to get blood from a stone or print money out of thin air or scam people or something I don't fully grasp actually the former is the way I understand it. Print your cushion of early retirement money on a strung out 1/2 (legal) petrochemical poison ag monocrop garbage scheme I say NO to that and your patents retail packaging and scummy distribution network altogether :tiphat:

People want to have safety and accessibility. Dealing with scary criminals and cost are the biggest problems with access. It is unacceptable to raise cost to infinity, we have a disconnect here as I see things. Law enforcement has no direction, security safety have no direction I mean to say, this is a private security force while people suffer, society breaking down.. price too high, I don't know if California politics are different from other states or it's just people but what is considered charity to you might not fly in my part of town plain and simple. It is just an opinion but what sways votes people right just my 2c.

Big pharma has been developing mostly useless single ingredient drugs from canna research for decades. It paralleled the intentionally spread misunderstandings of what makes natural Cannabis medicinal, which in most cases it no longer is (thanks to breeders who use government propaganda for marketing, and revered DEA pawns helping all the good growers get busted and their plants handed over to pharma goons.)

It's the truth that this is a facist imperial capitalism society in that order. Capitalism works just fine with regulations and labor unions and charity included. Out behemoth demands blood and money to spill more blood over the entire world. We can afford trillions in wars with the flimsiest of excuses. But..or because....We cannot afford to let the elderly or disabled have medicine that will keep them alive. Merica.

No one human invented hemp. No one human invented cannabis. Plants should not be patented.
Or as a commercial said in the old days ,"it's not nice to fool Mother Nature"

No one can patent nature but they can patent plants they create that are not found in nature.
Modern industrial hemp grown today is all patented and was developed soon after prohibition.
High CBD cannabis or 1/1 plants are not natural feminized cannabis is not natural.

The control of cannabis by industry has been at play for over 2 decades and some of the people from the canna community are as much to blame for this greed as big pharma.

Some of the main building blocks of what i call the modern genetic pool that makes up most of the strains many smoke are patented and have been for some years.
