Marijuana is illegal

I am starting this thread to remind everyone of what seems so obvious. Marijuana is still illegal for much of the country/world and carries serious life changing consequences.

I say this because I have gotten the feeling from indulging myself in the broad legal scene in America and there is a large disconnect and lack of understanding for those where this plant is illegal. There is a pervasive idea that anyone in an illegal state who doesn't want to be a criminal has to either move away or fight to change the laws. The fact is those are not options for many, many people.

Cannabis use isn't a priveledge for those with excess passion/love for the plant, or those willing to risk everything; its a natural born right.

I find that as long as you're willing to be reasonably discreet (play the game), you'll be left alone, just don't flaunt it.:tiphat:

In the beginning everyone was very cautious, my wife was freaking out.

My best friend told me he could smell it outside my house, I fixed that.

Then when the LAPD paid me a visit, checked my paperwork, checked my grow and said have a good day as they left.

I don't worry about it here in Los Angeles anymore :tiphat: the cops have better things to do.

P.S. - It varies by county

I know for myself, and a lot of people in those illegal states, we often don't loudly voice our opinions, go to rallies, or take an active part in volunteering, as example, to man cannabis pro-legalization tables because we are afraid of repercussions or getting on some petty-ass gov't shit-list. Therefor we do our thing on the down low. And even when medical eventually passes, we will still keep everything on the down-low.

I left Florida specifically because of the weed laws. I was tired of the legal risk that comes with growing in states like Florida and Georgia. I wanted to take a more active part in the legalization movement there, but it's risky. A lot more people would be open about weed if it didn't come with the legal risk.

Let us know what you plan to do to help, and I'll see if I can chip in.
