Mango haze vs Kali mist- today's genetics

Hey everyone,

Getting ready to place an order and trying to decide between these two strains. I've done quite a bit of reading on both of them but haven't seen much info directly comparing them.

If anyone could give me some personal experience that would be great! Looking to know the differences tween type of high as well as growing parameters.

I have no experience with mango haze but kali mist is still legit. Euphoric, motivating, social, and mood elevating. Expect 100+ days of flowering for your best examples (in my opinion).

I've done a few grows of Mr. Nice's Mango Haze (both indoors and out) and I did one run of Serious Seeds Kali Mist a few years back.

Gotta say I'm more partial to the Mango Haze, but that's just my personal preference. From what I can remember, I bought the Kali Mist seeds and the Mr Nice genetics at the same time (2011, I think?).

I really had my hopes up for the Kali Mist, heard all the stories about the killer potency, ease of growth, etc. I had grown long flowering narrow leaf sativa hybrids before, so the long flowering time didn't phase me. The plant I selected grew nicely, decent frost, etc...but the potency just wasn't there. I was a bit disappointed in the end.

I still have those seeds and may give them another go in the future, but for now, I'd rather grow MH if given the choice. Mango Haze is less watered down, imho.

Mango Haze can get pretty big, but you can manage that by training, topping or running them from clone in smaller containers. The last time I ran MH (from seed, outdoors), I ended up with 6' plants (untopped, untrained) from 20 gallon smart pots.

No, I didn't. I believe I started with 5 seeds...same as I did with the Mango Haze. Unless the germ rates are really bad, I always start 5 seeds max. Gotta keep my plant numbers manageable since I usually got 3 or 4 different strains going at once.

Have any of you smoked a pheno of Kali Mist from the late 90's that tasted like the Soda "Squirt" ... taste 10 out of 10... High was on the level of Blue Dream ...

Yes as a matter of fact, that is the flavor of my friends Kali Mist mother. Its very good, taste and effect are both epic.

IMO Kali Mist will give you more similar stable plants and the Mango will require some searching phenotypes.

Thanks for the replies everyone- keep me coming I really wanna hear everyone's experiences. Serous changed Kali mist around 2000 so any talk of Kali mist before then doesn't help much.

Mango haze is excellent, requires selection but excellent.

I honestly haven't smoked any Kali mist in a long time. It's rumored to be different now but I can say for sure.

Good luck on your grow! Fine strain selection either way you go
