Mandala's Hashberry...Can she get this old seed whore to settle down?

Hola fellow Icmaggers. I'm going to attempt my first grow diary with Mandalas Hashberry. I can be some what of a procrasinator... so this thread my go without some updates from time to time... but i promise to try to keep you all updated. Also, I don't have a camera at the moment but i'll try to get ahold of one before anything major occurs.

Lets start with a little about my grow room...
My veg area consist of a 400 watt MH, a 4 inch vortex fan, and an American Hydroponics Big foot, ebb and flow hydro table. (I suck at grammer and spelling so I apologize in advance).

My flowering room is composed of 2x600 watt HPS that are air cooled by a 6 inch inline fan. A 12 bucket multiflow hydo system (currently using 8 buckets, may end up using 10.) Now my grow has been shut down because of heat issues. The 2nd 600 watter was too much for my little room. I still have some work to do on the flowering area before it becomes functional, but i've bought a portable ac unit and have reworked the intakes and exhaust... so hopefully we can get the temps down....

One of the main reasons i chose hashberry was because of its heat resistant qualities.... Hmmm... what else can i tell you. Currenly all my air is exhausted by a 6 inch vortex attached to a pretty damn big carbon scrubber.

Ok... so today I put all 10 of my beautiful hashberry seeds into dampened rapid rooters and then placed them in a nice warm and dark area. Here are a couple shitty cell phone picks for ya.

Mandalas Hashberry... damn these guys have good genetics at unbelievably fair prices!!!! Thanks guys!

Here are my babies in their warm and moist wombs...
Lets keep our fingers crossed for a 100% germ rate and lots of lovely ladies!

Nice start....you'll find however that more folks will stop in when there's a bit more to see, that seems to be the trend once the plants are up and growing, and then alot more posts as they start flowering...but in the meantime, show as you go each step. :canabis: Has any popped yet?

Thanks for stopping in guys. Yeah, it will probably be pretty slow around here until flowering gets underway... thats when the real fun begins!

A.N.Other.... your hashberry and satori grow and smoke report is part of the reason I decided on those two strains... so thanks for that.

Well its been over 24 hours... the babies haven't poked their heads out, but i'm not getting worried yet. I've had terrific luck with rapid rooters.

Cleaning hydroton is SOOOOOO much fun........ :bat: NOT!!!!!!!

Happyherb: Great minds think alike! :joint: Satori is my next strain, i'll probably start some once I find a hashberry mother... and run them at the same time. Who would have ever thought that buying seeds could be so damn addictive?

Clowntown: Thanks for stopping in man, sorry to hear about hashberry eluding you the way she has... she better put out for me damn it!

Well, it's been 72 hours since I put them in their rapid rooters and all 10 have popped. :woohoo: I put the rooters in net pots filled with hydroton and then in a bubbling solution containing sm-90 and hygrozyme then under 4X20watt flouro's. They will stay here until they are big enough for the MH.

Hi NN - - -

Good luck with your grow.

I have two Hashberrys and three Satori in flower. 30 days today. They are sweet!!!!

The Hashberries are leading the trics race, with the AK47s and Satori right behind.

I LOVE Mandala stuff. Big thick stems, great roots, frosty bud.

I put the HB into 12/12 at 21 days (8-10 inches tall). They have "crowned" nicely at about 36-40 inches.

Keep an eye out for the Satori. It likes to stretch more than the HB, but it looks like it will be a BIG producer.

From one seed whore to another - all the best on your grow!!

Thanks for stopping in Kid. I'd be interested in seeing some pics if you have any. How is your AK treating you... i ran them my last grow. So, did you top any of your strains? I need my finishing height to be right at 36 inches or a little smaller.

Hey NN-

Here's a pic from the HB top at 30 days:

The AK47 is looking great. It is rivaling the HB for early tric growth.

I usually only top sativas. When an indica starts getting a little too large I just bend the top over.

I've topped a couple Kali-mist and an Arjon Haze #1.

I read once that you could put a 4 inch Kali-mist into 12/12 and it would end up over 4 feet tall. I tried it. It's true!!

Are you running Satori? I didn't top the Satori and it's getting close to 4 feet (put in at 21 days veg 8-10 inches tall.) In the big buds book, it says Satori tops well, you might consider that.

Thanks, and have a great grow!!

Damn, that seems like a pretty big stretch... have you seen Mr. Postmans Hashberry grow? His hardly stretched at all.... but then again he topped his.
I'm not running my satori yet, i'll wait until i get a nice hashberry momma before I start them.

Sorry I haven't posted any pics lately, not much to see really. All 10 seedlings are coming along nicely. Still haven't added any nutes. What node would you guys suggest topping at?

10 out of 10 exellent start....topping i usually top around 8- 9 th node on average and depending on strain/growth...and get an even looking bush vegged to aproxx 12-14 inch high or bigger....but....ive got no height restrictions...went about 50 inch veg on an ungrown strain and had no probs ....but thats my room....half the fun is learning the strain and its growing needs for future ....fingers crosses an uncomplicated grow .enjoy.HH.

Well, i was just tending to my babies and I accidently snapped one of their little necks... FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!! I'm such an idiot some times. Well, that means I'm down to 9. I'll probably give them another week and then transplant them and put em under the 400. Definitely will have some pics once that happens.... if I can manage to not kill them all before then!!!!!

Hey NN -

My HB cloned very easily, so look on the bright side. You don't just have 9 of them, you have as many as you can clone!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I can be all thumbs sometimes. Well, I finally transplanted them into 6 inch net pots and put them under the 400 MH today. I really need to get a camera so i can post some pics....

Now i'm just going to wait around until they are big enough to top... i was thinking about topping around 8-10 inches and then flowering around 16-20 inches.... my goal would to get them to finish a little under 36 inches.

For my own reference: EC @ .6, approx 3 weeks from seed. Using silica blast, cal-max, sm-90 and hygrozyme.

Well, i've been having some difficulties with my plants. Their growth was stalled and the leaves were yellowing.... I cut the EC in half because they were showing signs of overfeeding and they seem to be coming out of it pretty quickly. I went a head and topped them today. We'll see how they do the next couple weeks. Looking to flower by around the end of July.
