Mandala PNR?

I normally enjoy strains from Mandala and have tried almost all of them. I am wondering if anybody has grown Point of No Return? I have tried 2 different grows under 400 watt HPS and 400 watt MH and have been very disappointed with both grows. I got great yields but it was definately not as advertised as a "one hit wonder". Very weak highs that lasted maybe 30 min. I normally enjoy the Sadhu, Satori, M#1 and Hashberry strains for evening relaxing and was thinking this might be better than those. Has anybody else experienced this?

I grew PNR during my last grow. I was definitely a one (okay, maybe 2) hit wonder for me. I was originally disappointed with it as it was more stimulating than I was expecting, but I eventually learned to love it. I've copied the "smoke report" I did of my experience with it for you below:

I also think I finally figured out PNR this past weekend. If you've been following my posts, you'll know that I was initially interested in this strain for insomnia and occasional back pain. I was somewhat disappointed after my first sampling, as it was more mentally stimulating than I was expecting and it kept me awake. (It worked great for my back though.) I gave it another chance this weekend, and now have a much better understanding of how to take advantage of this amazing strain.

The high is first felt in the head. Mandala's website describes the effect as "emptying your mind of thoughts". For me, it felt like it was becoming harder to think. It took more effort than I was willing to make. My thought processes were ultimately reduced down to only being able to focus on one single thing at a time. Even just trying to move required 100% of my focus, so it became very challenging to function normally or even maintain a coherent train of thought. At the same time, an immobilizing body stone sets in, with a glue-you-to-the-couch kind of relaxing feeling that comes in waves and provides great pain relief.

The high is more interesting than this though. Despite quickly rendering you non-functional, it does not make you sleepy right away. If you let your mind disassociate from your body and travel freely, you can almost think normally. I found many of the thoughts I had in this blissful state of profound relaxation highly insightful. It was an incredible experience that I would have never known was possible had I not experienced it. I enjoyed it so much I am tempted to say that PNR is now one of my favorite strains (and I'm curious to try mixing it with BTB ...) The only catch is that you have to be able to completely give yourself over to the experience.

After drifting through the cosmos for a while, you will eventually fall asleep and wake up feeling refreshed the next day. I was mentally alert for at least two hours after smoking it though, so you need to plan ahead if you want to use it as a sleep-aid.

I'm growing Satori and Point of No Return right now and appreciate the report and the links. Thanks for sharing them! I did a ton of research and I love Mike and Jasmine Mandala's take on genetics and their work. I think it will be a good strain. I hope.

The only thing I can report is on the growing so far. Poppped my seeds on 9/28 and with it being only 10/13 it's been, what? 14 days? So far they are on their 6th-8th leaf set. Very vigorous plants. Bright to dark green. Very healthy in comparison to the other few seeds I popped: Super Skunk, Pink Plant and a Pakistani Ryder.

If they keep up with this growth and love my warm plantroom, which Mandala seeds are bred for resistance to, I will definitely keep this strain up through 2013 a few more grows. After that we will see. The PONR looks very promising so far.

Don't know if this is helpful, but in my research I have found lots of experienced Mandala growers say that the smoke and grow report on their website is spot-on. Even down to phenotype. PONR is supposed to be great for pain relief. I am pretty sure it's heavy sativa though, so it doesn't surprise me that it would provide mental stimulation versus sleep.
