Hey peeps I'm starting some Mandala seeds Mandala#1 & a few GPS/DJ F13. I'm looking for an uplifting type high. They just popped up yesterday i have 8 M#1 & 3 F13 i'll be soaking a few more F13 to try to get a total of 5 or 6. I may also start a few Sage n Sour x PPP beans i just made as well but will depend on how much room i'll have.

They will be grown in happy frog soil & starting under a couple of T5's in a Secret Jardin DP90 then placed under a small 86w draw power mars hydro LED as they get bigger more LED will be added then flowered under 330w draw power MarsII LED for flower in a GL80.

A couple years ago I grew out Mandala 1 and enjoyed it. The buds had a nice cinnamon apple pie type smell and the smoke was not overpowering. It is a good wake and bake option.

bombaycat how old were the seeds you grew out and got the plants with that flavour/smell?

I grew mandala#1 out when the seeds were first released, and got very similar aromas to the ones you describe, but they went out of stock everywhere for about 3-5 years.I bought a pack or two of the newer release and found much different plants across the board in terms of the aromas, much skunkier/more dutch seeming.

hey fellas, Thanks for your input of your experiance, I grew M#1 when it 1st came out too i got a potent mango smelling/tasting pheno that was amazing, it was low yield but high quality i still have a few hybrids i made with her & its all great stuff but wanted to see what else ide find.

I hope theres still some original genetics/phenos in these I hope i dont end up dissapointed this was in my top 3 favorite strains for a few years.

If M#1 is a dissapointment i just may sprout my old White Satin F2's next round.

I also decided to sprout a few Purple Pagoda that i made last year (Lvpk x Hindu Kush) x PCK (pink/purple pheno) hoping for something colorful

Hey Crondiddle O - It was the old genetics. A few years back everyone was sold out for quite a while. When the seeds were stocked again I am pretty sure the genetics changed. The last time I grew it outdoors was the year of the big floods and rains in CO and I noticed it had a problem with PM. Otherwise no problems and everybody liked it. I hope the newer seeds work as well.

I thought it had to be the older release.
I seem to recall that someone senior in the running of mandala seeds had some severe health issues which caused the supply issue we all refer to.When mandala#1 came back in stock on all the usual sites,I noticed they also had a few new varieties as well as feminised seeds.I'm guessing that during the problems some plants were lost,so maybe the newer stuff is re-selected parent stock.I'd imagine in a situation like that male plants would be more likely to be lost, because at least the females have a chance of being propagated by others in the circle for smoking material. Also I would guess in a situation of loss of males, that S1 via sts would be the easiest and quickest way to get seed back on the market, especially as that's what the market seems to demand nowadays.
I tried to contact the mandala folk many times to get information on the mandala#1 specifically after I grew the first pack out after the re-release and found differences across the board. It was more uniform for sure though.Just none of that perfume/spice/apples.The plants and finished product weren't bad by any stretch,I had one plant which made ludicrous hash, almost narcotic in effect.I guess I was just disappointed from the POV of a previous lover of #1.

Right, where's my seat..? Fuck it, I'll sit on the floor ;)

This is going to be interesting. Short flowering Mandala #1 and F13.. I did the mandala 1 outdoors years ago.. Worked well..

Good luck with these :)

Thank you for the nice clear photographs. I grow Mandala #1 outdoors in swamp tubes. Satori was too potent for a lightweight like me. Please keep us updated on your grow.

hey everyone,

Kalbhairav grab a pillow this may take awhile lol

HipsterDoofus i hear you on the satori i grew it when it came out & it was too intense for my dome still got some beans in the fridge

sackoweed ive used them to finish up a small flower room 2ft x 2ft area & used them to make seeds, 1 light really isn't quite powerful enough these are only 3 watt diodes unless you use more then 1 light, im going to flower with both of these & then switch to the marsII when temps cool down, the 48x3 model is best used for veg imo for small grows but ide recommend the mars II series for veg cause they put out more blue light, but all of the reflector series just came out with 5 watt diodes like the mars II & i think they are still the same price as the old 3w models they would be much better to use for flower then the older 3w model & they put out more red light then the marsII, also the mars II series now all have veg & bloom switches on them like the reflector series.

so in a nutshell all the lights from mars hydro now all have 5w diodes the marsII has more blue spectrum (unless you order all blue spec or all red spec $80 more) & the reflector series put out more red spectrum.

they come with a 3 year warranty, customer service is awsome & easy to get a reply etc especially through 420magazine they're on their everyday awsering question in their own thread & theres discount codes like medgrower1 (hes on youtube) which is 3% off or you could contact them if you buy several lights for a bigger discount. I like them some dont.....im happy so whatever lol

but if you wanted a better quality light that runs cooler & may push more light through their diodes etc... theres other companies to look into i like what growblu is doing but they're alot more expensive about 3x more

4 weeks veg I transplanted the M#1 & 2 of the F13 in 1 gallon pots but only filled them up about 1/2 way im low on soil & it will be a few weeks until i can get some more.I pulled the mutant F13 it was super twisted & stunting it didnt look good so i just ripped it.

group therapy shot biggest ones are M#1

thanks Landscaper get comfy now haha,

Possibly mandala used different parents for the re-release of this strain? (not confirmed) it will be interesting to see what they turn out like, i hope they are still simular to the original though in the high department If not i have a few hybrids with the original genetics i'll have to grow out.

Im getting some spicy scents & some plants smell somewhat like rasberry or something down that line when i rub on the stem. I have 5 males & 3 females, the females are much smaller about 1/2 the size slower growing & a lot less stretch, i will post up pics this weekend.

M#1 6 weeks veg not the greatest pix but i'll take better ones when they are in flower cause thats whats really important here. If i had grown them in bigger pots from the begining they would have been bigger so i screw up there for now on i'll start all plants in 1/2 gallon instead of cups me thinks.
3 females

I forgot to mention that F13 mutant i had was way too slow & the mutation was getting a lot worse & looked stunted with no new growth so i destroyed it

the 4 survivors no indication of sex yet probably will have to wait until they go into flower we'll see.
