Male?

im prety sure that this plant has turned male on me, but i need some confirmation. This is the best picture that i got, and i cant get a better one for prolly another day or so.

the worst part about it is, if this one is confirmed male, then so are 2 of the others. this one is pretty much solid male, 2 others that look to be in the same pot, and one more that hasnt shown anything yet.

I just have to know.

well thanks guys, i appreciate your help. This one, along with another is already culled. am afraid to say but i think another one tomorrow. and that leaves 1. thats so depressing.

nah.. take a bunch of cuttings and keep one or two of them back as mothers ;)

guaranteed females for your next run! :D

edited to add you could always do a seed run this time as well as taking clones.. just a thought :chin:

that was going to be the orig intent PA. This run was 4 seeds, and i was gonna keep one of them as a mother. when 3/4 turn out to be male, then im left with only 1 and it would have to be the mother. the problem here is, i still dunno that the last one is female. and even if i do take it as a mother(if it happens to be female) I have no personal selection. she could end up being a bad mother.

no sir, i believe that ill have to start more seeds and see what they turn out to be. once i get a few females, then ill take the best out of them and make her a mother.

either way, it still doesnt matter, cause these are all bagseed anyways. I wanted to make usre that i can grow, and the system im using works, before i decided to go with known genetics. they are to expensive to just waste them if ya dont know what you are doing.

You should still take atleast a cutting off that one incase that one turns out to be a keeper! you'd be totally gutted if it was and you didn't.

Hey there Teh Baker,

no matter how good the quality of your picture is, there will always be people giving you their opinion.

Generally, the better the picture quality, the more accurate people's opinion will be but even if you can't properly tell from the pic if its a cannabis plant there will be people telling you its either male or female.

I just can't believe so many people over and over go chopping down plants when it is just too soon to tell.

It might be male, it might not have been. You could just as well have shown us a picture of the seed, then collected everyones opinion on if it was going to turn male or not and kill it based on that info...

If you had shown us this picture, I think alot of people would have given differnt opinions

BlackMelo, I was already pretty sure that it was male when I posted the pic. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions before the chop. Now that I'm certain what a male looks like, I can take care of the grow room by myself. Even more so, like I was saying before, I have another one to chop today because of his balls.

Just one thing though, on the male that I have to chop, its not possible to get a female out of any cut I take off of him is it? what happens if I just keep lopping his balls off like Bobbit, will he make female parts ever?

well, i took cuts off the one that has not shown sex yet, still keeping fingers crossed on its yet to be determined sex. Im hoping that because it has taken longer for this one to decide that it will decide female, and ill have cuts to replace the empty buckets.

good chance it will be female if it hasn't shown sex yet, males are always 1st to show, usually by a couple of week
good luck
