From my experience it normally takes 10 days to 2 weeks for the male flower to mature and open after the preflowers show.

I have never heard of the preflower being able to pollenate a female. The preflower is a little ball on a stick as I call it.....

thx for the replys.

So correct me if im wrong....male pre-flowers (balls on a stick....the first few days) cannot pollinate a female?

Do the male pre-flowers have to open before it can pollinate a female?

just trying to learn guys.......

if i were to pull a plant within the first few days of seeing that it was male (little balls on sticks) and in the process handled the male pre-flowers.....is it possible to release pollen into the air and get it on my hands??

yes. think of it as the pollen is sperm and the pistil is the egg or the path to the egg. you need both to make a baby (seeds) any white pistil can be pollinated. its best to pollinate about 1-2 weeks in so they get ripe before you chop the plant at its harvest date.

only when they open up will pollen be released. youll know its very noticeable. they open up and whitish/yellow powder starts dropping everywhere. at first there just tiny pods that take about a week to two weeks to open after first sight of them.

No. The male flower has to mature. The pollen will start to escape before it actually "opens", but it takes a week or two for it to mature to that point....
