Interresting sativa...not sure if it's even stretching yet...one hasn't even preflowered..I'm curious if the finishing date is very accurate ...and that t can finish without being green housed or moved indoors...
I bet it will be done by like mid nov to December if it's like other sativas this late...
I'm expecting flowering to start mid to late December at this rate.....smells killer tho and the males pack a nice euforic racy but melo high with a nice carrot cedar smell..

I assume there is like a small percentage of indica in there and that it is not true land race..
Almost all phenos are extremely thin branches with paper thin leaves...
1 pheno has thick leaves.. wide leaf and thick short stocks and is very hybrid looking....
Rare to find a thin leaf that throws wide leaf phenos...
The other sativas I know that do it like burmese had wide leaf bred with it along time ago to add density and branch thickness\ structure improvement..
I bet it's 90% sativa tho and selected back towards the sativa side selectively..
Looks special tho..defintely the most sativa thing I've ever grown..
Does anyone know how much these stretch??

Welcome Lost_sailor,

The flowering and finishing times stated in the descriptions of our website are correct and accurate for northern latitudes between 37-40ºN, where we breed and test our strains. If you are growing southern, then they will finish earlier, if you are growing northern, later.
Planting time also affects the flowering onset and finishing times, as all cannabis plants must reach sexual maturity first before start the flowering, so most of the times a late planting implies a delay in the finishing time.

Our Malawi line has been bred since the first generation (P1) Old Malawi Killer up to current P4 releases without adding indica or other genetics, strongly selected towards better indoor adaptability and faster flowering times, along for very high resin production, high yields and huge trichomes, high vigor, high flower density and high flower/leaf ratio, overpowering, profound and long lasting psychedelic effects for what the line is well known for. The feminized Malawi version is slightly faster flowering than the regular version.

Not all pure sativas, even not all the tropical sativa landraces produce thin leaves during all their development, some can produce wider leaves, especially in seedling stage.

In our long experience with breeding with tropical and landrace sativas, and adapting them to indoor growing through several generations and phenos selections, it's quite common that the sativa line eventually produces wider leaves, thicker stems, shorter flowering times, denser flower structures, etc .... due to both: adaptation to indoor environment and due to selections through the breeding process.

The are plenty of good examples in the Malawi thread in this room about how Malawi behaves in all stages (also stretching) both indoors and outdoors. The growth of the strain is strong due to the high vigor the strain still keeps, but the node length is quite moderate and manageable.

Good luck with your plants.

I totally feel you...
I could be totally wrong on the slight indica traits.
The Panama red my friend has been breeding since the early 80$ has been getting more dense...shorter and frostier every three years or so..
Sorry not trying to bash you...
It is beautiful sativa....smells funky and I like the high from the males alot...
Definitely breeding it with some super early strains.
Purple Trainwreck that's done flowering in August and reeks of cherry gas..
Sour bubble and sour blue tooth..
Thanks for the strain dubi..
Definitely expecting some fire...well just have to see when it harvests...I have them in filtered sunlight..and shade...might be slowing down flowering time by a couple weeks...my other bitches are behind schedule as well....
Can't wait to try some ferment cures on the finished...that's totally my head stash...I'm a sativa fiend
