I just bought a Malawian seeds for planting outdoors.
I live in Ecuador, Quito, 0'0'0, in the middle of the world where the photoperiod is 12/12 throughout the year, is now going to start the dry season with temperatures between 12 to 30, these days there are still little rain and a little cold at night.
I will put to germinate girls these days, fertilizer boards are for 8 weeks. Malawi has a flowering period of 10 to 13 weeks.

Please give me recommendations for fertilizing and what can i do

What can happen?

In this case the growth period is 1 month ???

Gracias

Nice, I'll be following your grow Elfunda.
My suggestion would be to use agricultural organic fertiliser in pellets, it releases nutrients slowly and you can top dress the root zone later when needed.
A good balanced npk ratio for soil mixing and a more pk rich fert for start of flowering, or just give them organic liquid ferts when the soil becomes too poor.

Good luck

Bienvenido ELFUNDA,

Malawi is a great sativa choice for tropical locations. I would recommend you to start the seeds in a well aerated soil with correct ph (around 6.5-6.8) and not so much fertilizer ... not sure how much fertilizers your boards have, but if they have too much then they can easily burn the young seedlings.

Seedlings will start to flower aprox after 1 month of life, so try to provide them enough soil and a good location with plenty of sun since the beginning so they have the chance to have a good growing stage to develop bigger structure as possible. After 3 weeks of life you can transplant them to a more fertilized soil until the end of cycle.

Let us know if you have any doubt during their development.
Best wishes!

I live in Ecuador, in the southern part of the country.... they say its semi tropical...at about 5000 ft above sea level.
I had no seeds, except the local stuff that comes when you buy some of the crap to smoke, they don't even remove the males...apparently ...
So now I have a secure place now to grow my own... not interested in selling anything. I have started out almost a year ago... I have grown in the US, but it was hydroponic in the basement.... Here, the electricity is about 3x the cost of what I had to spend in the States.
So I decided I would grow outside in my garden... I would take the seeds get them up to 6 or 8" and then take them out to the garden... Since we have only 12 hrs of light here, they start blooming as soon as they can. So the last time I did this I left the little ones in the building, and added a light over the little ones and got them 6 or 8" before I set them time. The florescent lights were on a timer so that they had an extra light for about 6 hours. I didn't know if it would work, but it did... At 8" under florescent light they had not done any flowering at that time.... then I set them outside into the 12 hour light and they started flowering right away. My last crop without the light was 12 or 14 inches and the plants were ready to harvest. I have yet harvest the ones that will be cut down in about 3 or 4 weeks... and the plants are about 30 inches high now...
Anyone have experience in this 'category'?

Hey there keylime, you are in pot growing heaven as far as the sun and weather. High altitude and at the equator. Do not want you getting into trouble but I would guess there are elite heirloom strains to be had down there.

How you would go about getting them no idea. There were great sativas grown in Equador during the 70's.

Are you legal to grow there? I am guessing not.
