Making cannabutter with trim

hello community, have some old trim been sitting there for many months and quite a bit of it, im assuming it isnt as potent since its been sitting, i would like to make cannabutter with it can you give me a easy effective way, time isnt a issue to make it. and more importantly what kind of conversion rate should i use of trim old trim lol to butter? thanks so much

I dont think you need to worry that much about a couple months, maybe when youy start gettin past 6 months. I make my butter with trim.
You will need:
Crockpot with a liner
Use european style butter(84% milkfat vs 76% or so). My high quality trim i use 1 oz to 1 lb of butter, I've "buttered" it down to this level with no loss in strength. This is the only subjective part.
Cheesecloth
Two metal reusable coffee filters
3? glass bowls-doesn't hurt to have extra in case of overflow or a place to hold dirty items
Coffee Grinder
Potato Ricer(optional)

1.Grind up product very fine
2.Put inside of crockpot liner with melted butter, water outside of liner(might not be necessary i use to give a heat buffer)
3.Cook on high one hour(stir once or twice)- then turn to low for 3 or more hours
4.Strain through cheesecloth into pyrex dish
5.Use potato ricer now to squeeze out the last remnants in cheescloth/bud mound
6.Filter product through the 2 metal filters
7.Separate out one cup while its still liquid to make a batch of choc chip cookies
8.Put remainder in freezer until needed
9.I usually take it out the next day and crack it and remove crap that settled on bottom if any.

I fill a pan 2/3's with water, using as big a pan as I need.

Then add butter, and bring to simmer. Add trim. Simmer (preferably covered) for 3-4 hours, adding water if needed along the way.

Strain through a stainless steel screen into large tuperware. Put in fridge overnight. Next morning, break butter and drain and dispose of liquid.

Last time I put 4oz of really dry trim into 2 lbs of butter and made a batch of brownies with 1/2 lb of butter. Insanely strong.

A good method to remember is 3-2-1. 3- cups of water 2- sticks of butter 1-cup trim (mash it it in there). With a lb. of a butter i use 120-150 grams of material depending on the quality of the shake. Everything else is done the same as the two previous posters. I use cheesecloth and rubber insulated gloves to squeeze the hot leaf/butter ball, as I pour previously boiled water over ball to help extract all the butter in between squeezes.

i tried a few ways of making butter and oil and failed with great potentcy imo too many times.. i had my best luck my last time. this may or may not work for you. i used 2 sticks butter, 1 ounce trim, unmeasured kief, probably 2 grams? did a double boiler.. boiled for 3 hours, was late so set butter leaf mix in fridge. next day double boiled mix 3 more hours, added a slight amount of water to cannabutter mix. strained through reusable coffee filter, used potato masher to squeeze out as much as possible, mixed strained leaf with small amount of water n warmed and mashed and restrained. cooled mix in fridge, made betty crocker cookies. with high tolerance 1 cookie made me buzzed but drowsy, 2 cookies was on edge of too much but teasingly perfect at peak(2 hours) with no additional smoke. Buzzed lasted through 6 hours with different stages. Just giving my best experience. o and had to add 3/4 a stick of butter back in to make equal 2 sticks due to evap. this method was probably overkill timewise but the results were great
