Making Cannabutter in a hot pot

Hey what's up everyone,

I have searched and searched but not found an answer to this question...

Is it possible to make cannabutter in a hot pot? The one I have can boil water, so isn't that enough to make butter with it? Is there a reason I shouldn't do it?

I just don't have access to a kitchen right now that I can fill with the sweet aroma of green....So I think this may work, or no?

Here is a picture of the kind of hot pot I'm talking about:

Let me know, thanks!

I saw this for 6 bucks at target, I was thinking the same thing.

Where are you going to do it if not in the kitchen? It will work for sure just dont let it get to hot or the thc will evaporate. Also do you have a fridge?

Try and gauge the temp range before you go ahead, but let me know. I would prefer to use something like this as opposed to the stove top double boiler.

I was going to just do it in my bedroom next to my windowfan to keep the smell out.

I'll try to gauge the temperature as best as I can, when it's on full water is boiling so that gets hot enough, i just need to find out the good simmer temperature.

And yes, I do have a fridge!

The evaporation point of THC is much higher than that of water, hence the common practice of using water - the butter/water mixture won't go over 212f.

Butter (or any oil) on its own can definitely get hot enough to vape out the THC.

I've had excellent results with a 2 qt crockpot.
