Making cannabis alcohol

I'd like to make something like that, but with cannabis.
I dont know how to name this process in english, but basicly you put herbs, in our case cannabis, and leave it for couple of months in the dark. Eventually, alcohol will get mary-jane taste, but the question is: will I get high too by drinking this alcohol?
Alcohol would be home-made national spirit known as schnaps (above 50%).
I'd be gratefull for any comments or experiences with this.
