most of the boxed brownie mixes use oil these days. betty crocker supreme bars are the ones that still use butter that i have seen. check an old recipe book brownies are easy to make. your butter will be fine in the oven ..... no worries just follow the directions in what ever recipe you use

I use melted cannabutter for box mix brownies oil and they're delicious.

Agreed.

ThisBuds4You's Easy Ass Pot Brownies
1 box Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Family Size (for a 9x13 pan)
1/4 c. cocoa powder
1/2 c. cannabudder, melted but not too hot
1/4 c. water
2 eggs

DIRECTIONS
Empty contents of brownie mix into a large bowl, add cocoa powder and mix well. Then combine brownie mix, cannabudder, water and eggs and stir 50 strokes with a spoon. Bake in a greased 9"x9" or 8"x8" pan in a 315 degree oven for 50-55 minutes. Cut and serve when completely cooled.

NOTES:
Cocoa powder adds depth and richness to this brownie recipe. It's not a critical ingredient but it's a nice addition. You can also add chocolate chunks, marshmallows, nuts, etc. to your brownies. The sky's the limit!
