looks great Maj.

i would go with Marlo advices, trim all the back branches, especially if you doing 400's
dont be afraid of taking them off, if you can take them for clones before you flip great, after ya flip just worry about the front, that where its going to count the most.

cheers
red.

ps. trimming go hand in hand with vertical

Thanks red as always

Question to you or Marlo, looking at the after pics do you think I should trim more? And if so what would you remove? Thanks.

Hard to say without really getting in there and looking MC.
I think it depends on if you can deal with a lil larf....or you want no larf at all. Some of the buds down below and inside the bush will start to look full, but will hold no weight.
I end up using this stuff for edibles, but each grow I try to reduce the amount of larf harvested. So each grow, I trim and train a lil bit more until I find the sweet spot.
Try making a wall of buds that is only a couple inches deep. That'll get you the most dense buds....the inside is mostly larf when dealing with 400's.

You'll probably have to go thru at least one harvest with this setup til you know what your really dealing with. I still have a hard time chopping all that growth early on.....but it is definitely necessary.

12/8 update

12/8 update

Thanks Marlo, I think I am going to have a bit o' the larf this round. I have a hard time trimming healthy growth off :)

Sorry to everyone for the lack of updates, I have been going through some bullshit recently.

Great news in the grow room though, all four of the C99 are females :dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013:

Here are a couple of picks from tonight

12/13 update

12/13 update

So I kinda fucked up and got 3 of my 4 C99's to hermie a little bit. Like an idiot I had not rechecked my room for light leaks because I spent hours on the grow before this one making sure it was totally light proof. Well that doesn't help much if you put a power strip on the wall with a bright red light on it :wallbash:

It was about three feet from the back side of three of the C99's and that is where it happened.

But the good news is that it all seems to be localized to the back side of the plants and they have been easy to find. I have picked off all the balls and eaten them (Sensimilla Mountain Oysters) and I will continue to be on patrol for them but I think it is going to be fine.

They are starting to flower and I will post a video and some pics later.

Oh yeah I added the Thomas Edison quote, seemed appropriate.

Looking beautiful Maj.

Suck to hear about the herm

So to say that c99 pretty sure carry the herm genetics from the parents, in that case i would just cull them. (imo)

I had some strains that did the same thing, even the little stress or light leak they will go full blown herm on me. But others no matter what i do they will not herm

So if i were you i would learn that strains and give it a better run next time or not just cut your losses and start a new one :)

looking beautiful there !!

:):)

cheers.

Thanks for looking in red. I really think that since I have removed the light leak source that they will be fine but we shall see if it is too late to save them. At this point I am going to continue on and just keep watching for balls. If they keep sprouting I will cull them but I don't think it will be a problem. I have not seen any grow reports from Mosca's C99 that have hermied so really do not think it is genetic but just user error on my part.

Yeah I think this particular White Castle is a mutant, the other times I have grown her she was a great performer but not this one. Can't win them all :)

12/19 update

12/19 update

So the C99-4 is still throwing out some balls, I am going to give her about one more week and if she is still unsure about her sexual orientation I will cull her. I hope I don't have to since #4 is bigger than #2 and #3 put together.

I thought I had a leak on the bucket for #4 because there was water on the floor around it so I checked the connections but all of them were totally dry. I popped the net pot off and the water level was about an inch from the top of the bucket so I stuck my arm in and checked the drain and sure enough the roots were growing into the bulkhead fitting. I pulled them out the best I could but the water level dropped less than an inch. It was about time to change out the nute solution anyway so I drained the system and pulled the drain hose off of #4 and pulled out the roots pictured below. It was over three feet long, I felt like a circus clown doing the never-ending handkerchief trick when I was pulling it out of the drain pipe, it just kept going on and on.

I hope everyone had a great holiday, mine was good except I decided to cull my C99-4 because it was still throwing out balls. I was really hoping it would it stop but it was still growing new ones so it got the axe.

I will try to get some fresh pics up but I am driving all day today so it may not happen until tomorrow.

What a beautiful update Maj.

Very sorry to hear about the cull

What i know within years of growing is that, the strongest, biggest most vigorous one tent to turn out to be male or female that throw males flower

But now since thats over, we could only look forward to the beautiful buds you're going to post

Merry Christmas and Happy New year my friend,

grow on ;)

cheers,
red.

12/29 update

12/29 update

Had a small flood last night night, the bulkhead fittings I am using like to get blocked by roots. Sucks but I think I have a solution but it will be a pain in the ass to implement now.

Anyway here are some pics, more in my album

I super cropped the two tallest tops and pulled them over level so I did not have to raise the light and it is helping to fill the void left by #4.
