Sup everyone.

I have been thinking about growin in maine for about 10 years now.
I'm sure they will will fully legalize by 2016.
the land up there is dirt cheap and so are the houses. i recently came across a property that i really like.
i currently have a high p count out here in colorado and that was done by paying 300$ and a 5 minute doctor visit.

Is there money to be made in maine? can you get a plant count higher than 6 even if your not a caregiver? id like to do at least a jackson or more.
greenhouse would be the idea up there in northern maine im sure?

any other thoughts/ideas on maine would be awesome. security...popo

ME is a gold mine. You just have to have connections for distribution. Lots of bud in Maine. Lots of land that's dirt cheap. It's best to grow in ME and distribute in states close by. There's loopholes in the laws that allows you to grow for family without registering with the state. You can have 6 plants per patient but limited to 30 plants or 5 patients including yourself. 99 plants is a misdemeanor. Growers are everywhere. I walk into grow shops and people are smoking joints and looking at different strains. It's a cool place. It's much harder to make it in ME if you have to distribute to ME. People in ME don't have the disposable income like folks from other states. $150-200 / oz for indoor is the norm. Pounds are hard to move at 3k for indoor. More like 2500 a p if you're growing weight. I was buying pounds of good outdoor this harvest for $1,600. I would never consider moving any product in ME. Other than that, there's like no cops and lots of places to grow. Lots of houses for sale less than 100k.

what about the weather? What kind of summer temps. Do you guys get? how long is the season too?

We have 4 seasons in ME. The summer temps can hit 90's but it's not bad. The grow season here is kind of like maybe 1 out of every 5 years might be the right season. Very high humidity around harvest of 90%. It sucks. You'll lucky if you can make it to the end of Oct. It seems that most have to harvest by mid october but the year before this harvest we made it until the end of October. There was a frost that killed plants this year in early october or the end of September. Mold issues can be a problem. Green house would be much better. You're not getting any 10 pound plants out here. If this is the Medo-local who grows those monsters out west, you might be able to get 3 pound plants with your skills but like I said, it's hit or miss. If you get the right season. Talk to Aeroguella about the outdoor. He would know best but from what I've seen, ME is tough on outdoor. At least Western Maine. Also you can't really plant outdoors until June because it can still get cold.

I grew in Maine for 23 years, both in and out. Lots of stuff doesn't do well there but plenty does. You just have to match your strains to the climate. I grew afghan indica that kicked ass outside. If I still lived there I would do a greenhouse for my outs. Everything I grew went to the college in Orono or down toward Boston where the richest most spoiled kids in America have a limitless ability to consume the highest quality for top dollar every time. Your market is Boston if you grow weight. But that means passing through New Hampshire to get there. Indoor crops in Maine rock especially in Spring/Winter/Fall because your temps are low and its easy to manage heat. Maine is THE state to grow in I think especially if you are young. Land is cheap, lots of rural homesteads and farms that are all for sale. Local economy is shit so everything is always depressed. Maine is stunningly beautiful, has great downhill skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, biking, sea kayaking. Portland has music and great food. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor is the bomb for biking. Higgins Beach in Scarborough has great surfing. Maine has great laws for growers, Anybody could make a go of it there if you work hard and are smart.

I am also returning to Maine. I like the idea that I can have more plants in various stages vs Oregons 6. Not super stoked that I have to build a lockable fence and the 2.5 oz is odd. What is the scoop on "incedental" extras. If I have dry untrimmed flowers I can have a few lb's? I don't have a problem donating my extra but I need a few units for myself. Will my garden be inspected? I have had access to great clones in the triangle, am I going to be a seed man in Maine?

there is a great seedbank here in usa that has some f9 and f10 genetics..u should look into them if u want something that will not mold..all her strains was built, breed and pollinated in the pacific north west OUTDOORS!!..oregongreenseed has the products u will need bro..if u want to make money u sure cant do it with moldy buds..ever year i have had to deal with that shit as do many others..it dont matter how many times a cannabis cup strain has won the cup if it cant be grown outdoors imo..outdoors is where the money is at not indoors unless u got a warehouse and i doubt many have that when first getting into the game

hey bro sounds like my outdoor climate here in south east usa lol humid as hell and always get mold..got some strains for next year that is nothing but all outdoor and found a new seed bank thats got outdoor genetics only so i pulled the trigger and got 2 packs and see if they are as good as they say..1 out 5 years here is the perfect season..and the thing about these strains is all is done by end of sept..im gonna be on the prevetion plan next year..got neem oil, actinovate, protekt and sns244c..ready to go to war with mold and pests..i think alot of my faults was my strain choice as well and not getting enuff liveing beneficial bacteria in my soil to help defend as well

I'm working with an agent out there right now and it doesn't seem to be cheap or super easy to find a space (at least so far)
