Thats the cheapest I have seen them. Are you buying it used from a friend? If not share your source... I am planning to buy 8 of them.

IMO, that is more of a disclaimer than anything. Opinions will vary.

Different sweetspots as opposed to other styles (ie. ss2, coolsun, and so on), suits many styles of grows great for heavy focus on a tight even canopy and less on depth into canopy. Great for monoculture crops. The wideness/length of the hood serves as both a pro and a con. It loses intensity on the light thrown to the sides of the wide reflector before being reflected back down but makes up for in terms of canopy coverage in a well suited garden. Covers a large area with ease and maintains this coverage when close to the tops.

The hoods are great, but imo so are the ss2's. It all depends on which style you are going for and what the hoods intended use is. These hoods throw great sweetspots on the perimeter hood itself. There is an angled groove inside and runs the entire rectangle. It throws further than this, but from this spot and into the canopy it really goes hard.

It is also a beast of a reflector, heavy and hard to manage/store.

IMO best use of these is flowering with 600 watt HID or less, or imo more preferably vegging with them.

SS2 is hard to beat, but the ocho is next up to test the rigors

Who will be the victor!?!? Scenes from the next episode of.....da da da da

UNDERDOG!

Another tip of advice, these (xxl) and some other models have an areodynamic feature on the lamp socket side. Run fan direction accordingly.

I love my magnum. They are cooled very easily, albeit expensive. Got mine for $205 shipped from hydrobarn.com Not a bad price.
