Magnetic Ballast Help

I have a Sunlight Supply 400 hps magnetic ballast that has been working fine until a couple days ago. It fires the bulb up nice and bright and then when I check on it a few hours later, the bulb is burning about half as bright as the other 400 I have sitting next to it. I swapped the bulb and it does the same thing so the problem is the ballast.

would a capacitor or the coil cause this problem?

I don't know what it is, but I would apply percussive maintenance - whack it a couple times, the ballast, and see if that helps.

lol....im already 1 step ahead of ya. unfortunately, it did not help.

I was leaning towards the capacitor too. I will get a kit so I have a spare coil and ignitor for next time.
