Magnesium deficiency?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out this deficiency. I'm pretty confident it's a magnesium deficiency but thought I'd get some opinions before I treat. A few of the older bottom leaves have begun to turn a real light almost teal color. Everything up top looks fine. Plant has recently begun flowering. It's an outside grow in a pot. Using organic soil and nutes. I want to say its Garden Tone I'm using. Dont see any other issues besides maybe some burnt tips on a few leaves here and there. I hear Epsom salts can treat it ? Just not sure if I can just grab any old bag of it or how much to use. Thanks in advance

Welcome to ICMag! :D

Mag deficiency shows up as yellowing leaf between green veins. Should you get a real mag deficiency, you're looking for bags of epsom salt which say "Magnesium Sulfate" as the only ingredient. ;)

Though I'm well familiar with mag deficiencies, my skills in soil are rather poor and I'm generally at a loss for identifying most deficiencies/toxicities. Fortunately, there are quite a few growers here who will be able to help you.

Your leaf looks like potassium deficiency, the burning at the tips and curling. Seaweed, some sort of kelp meal for instance, is a good fix because it supplies other micro-nutrients. It's easy to forget the P and K during Veg, cannabis needs the stuff throughout it's life cycle, not just during flowering.

Magnesium could be a problem too, I've found using Epsom Salts is almost always a great idea. Soil mixes rarely supply enough of it. Any old bag of epsom salts will do. 1 tbsp per gallon of water is good. The mag deficiency can cause potassium and other deficiency symptoms, because of nutrient lockup. I've gotten in the habit of adding kelp meal, epsom salts, a bit of calcium, plus a source of P and N to my soil mixes. Cannabis can almost always use more nutrients then what the hardware store bag mixes have. Especially when you recycle your dirt.
