MAC seeds and are they really worth all that

So I've heard crazy things about how much these seeds have sold for at auction, and I'm wondering how this can possibly be worth it?

I mean how likely do you think it is to find a pheno similar enough to Cap's cut in any given batch of 10 seeds? It's not like this is a stabilized F4+ or anything so what gives? 17k$???

For people that have grown these seeds out, are you getting close enough to the MAC1 that it you could offer it as MAC? Structure? Flavor?

How much would you pay for a pack of these seeds if you believed they were legit?

They are worth what someone is willing to pay. If you have a market that demands the latest trends, then you have to aquire the latest hype seeds. Or cutting.

Personally I would spend 1-200 on a pack of seeds. No worries though, in six months mac1 will be cheap and replaced by the next latest and greatest.

I too thought it was all hype and silliness, but I came across this video where Mr. Soul describes it as the most interesting strain he's seen in 30 years of growing....I mean, it's not like he's got any huge incentive to hype the MAC vs his own work like that.
Has anybody tried growing MAC from seed when they were regular price? Anybody find keepers in a pack? Nothing special there?

Mac is fire. Idk where there are seeds going for 17k but every pack I’ve seen cap drop was around the 200 range. It’s easily my fav day time smoke to date. I can’t wait to get my hands on that cut one day. Oh there are quite a few Mac from seed grow logs in caps new forum. I’ve seen some that look better than caps cut but who knows how they smoke.

I think the 17k is from when Cap said he was selling his MAC male for 17k. He was just playing around, but a few so called breeders starter calling their MAC males from his 1st drop 17K male.

I have never smoked it but a grower/breeder I trust said it tasted like the MTG diesel clone that was passed around in mid to late 2k.

LOL he didn't even know that the MTG diesel was made by me.

Although it's entirely possible I'm just repeating a rumor about the auction price...I just read that somewhere and if someone knows otherwise i defer....

But in the video, all he states the interesting parts as being:
Terpenes, aroma, looks, hard nugs and yield.

When it comes to the high though, he just described it as "lovely." Nothing about it being spectacular. No mention of his dick or the dirt.

Who knows when it comes to auction most I have ever seen was 5k for aliens fruity pebble Og. I’ve been smoking none stop on the Mack for about a month now. I just tried lumpy farms apple fritter, the mochi gelato ,and white runtz and tbh the Mac is still my fav followed by the mochi and apple fritter. The white runtz was good but didn’t have legs.
