Hey Fella's and Ladies,

I've been wanting to do a Jack Herer grow for a while now as it's known to many as the Dom Perignon of cannabis from what I've read about it.

Now I know there's many new killer strains out there but it's nice to go for something that's vintage once in a while! I love spicy tasting bud so hope I find a good pheno although I only popped 4 this time so we'll see if I get lucky enough to have a few girls at least.
Usually it's 50/50 so I'm hoping for 2 as I have a Soma Diesel going now full swing and I grow in a custom NGB cab.

I will explain my growing method as I go to make it easy for noobies.
I had a lot of help when I first started way back on OG so I'll try to give back as much Knowledge as possible.


I start germination by placing the seeds directly from the tupperware in the freezer into a damp paper towel and placing that into a diplock sandwich bag. I place the baggy on top of my TV receiver checking after 24 hours and pop!! I see tails.

I place the seeds tail down GENTLY into Rapid Rooter plugs and rip a tiny piece to cover each of them from the side of the Rooter plugs.
After 24 hours they all start to show through.
At this point I'm only misting them 2x per/day.

The cabinet was built using 3/4" furniture grade maple plywood all around.
Size is 39 1/4"H x 39 1/4"L x 20"D
3x recessed doors. Flower=25"L x 11W x 20"D Veg=24"H x 20"D Mech=15 1/4"H x 20"D
Tracks for the two pullouts, and 120 degree hinges to open swing the door and clear both shelves in the veg and flower room were used.
3 dark vent louvers that are light tight.
125 watts for vegging and 250 watts switchable on digital ballast.
Scrog screen as per NGB instructions with 2" chicken wire.
Mech room- 172 Vortex, insulated duct, 2 x timers.
Fans- 172 cfm cabinet fans on adapters with speed control.
The cabinet was sprayed in a spray booth with primer and 2 coats of
Benjamin Moore Super White Flat Finish.
Exterior MoutainAir Filter hooked to insulated duct.
I have a digital temp/humidity reader in both chambers.

I don't think I left anything out.

nice start to the diary bro, strapped in for the ride,
1 thing i noticed is Jack Herer loves/needs lots of root space,
the ones i'm growing just now i vegged for too long (7 weeks in 11 litre containers), and all plants were rootbound by day 10 of flower - this stunted the plants and has affected yeild slightly,
found some amazing smelling plants ranging from watermelon bubblegum, grape, orange/citrus alcohol, going by aroma and look i'd say the watermelon bubblegum + citrus alcohol pheno's are the keepers, the indica citrus alcohol pheno looks exactly like the genius clone but has even more resin than the genius,
looking forward to seeing which phenos show up in the mix man

Thanks for dropping in bro. I watched your grow from the start and it looks to be just about done. You did a great job and that watermelon smelling pheno really sounds great!
Your #3 pheno is phenomenal...very frosty indeed!!

I watched yours as well and you had them bug problems on one right? but throughout your grow they were very lush, healthy and I'd love to hear how they smoked for ya?

Anyway I just put them into 5" pots for the veg/sexing cycle (Foxfarm Ocean forest soil). They will remain in these very close to the light until sexed about 30 day under 18/6. At this point water holds very long so only misting here until the top layer is super dry.

What kind of compact fluoro and reflector are you using in the bottom left hand side of your cabinet?

I'm guessing your not finding the FFOF's too hot for your seedlings?

The reflector is an Bright wing that I trimmed the front to fit the cab depth.

The bulb is 125 W COMPACT FLUORESCENT DAYLIGHT 6500K BULB.

I've been using Foxfarm for a long time and never had problems with it.
I don't give nutes until later when the plants are a bit mature as the soil has plenty to hold them off for now.

Second...f.u.c.k elites man! JH is one of my all time best 3 strains. I will take a keeper Jack against any cali kush. I jsut lost my 1998 sensi mom I got from a pack o beans I bought in amsterdam 10 years ago...ALLLL good! Got 4 new Jack hybrids going now...make SURE you get cuts man!!! You WILL regret not cloning all your girls...

Thanks man I hope to find a spicy tasting keeper so yes. I hope the thin leaved one I'm holding is it. It reminds me of C99 but with tight nodes instead of the stretched sativa dom.
