howdy folks im back at it again. this time hopefully with something to share knowledge with others latter on. I am ditching coco and going to organic no till living soil. Short story i am rebuilding the walls and want to do it right.

heres my talented paint drawing thats not close to scale:

heres a couple pics in progress:

my lung room is the approx 40 foot long 4 ft hallway with the 25 foot by 3 hall ways on the ends. the 4 foot part will have ac co2 and humidity control.

as you can see grow room a is empty and b has some the last of the coco trays. both rooms have very funky ceilings. so i am assuming i have 3750 cubic feet. thats doing 9 feet wide 37 long by 11.5 high. if that math is right and i want to do 2x per min air flow i would need almost 8k cfm?

i was hoping vortex 2000 cfm 12in fans going in and out was going to be over kill for each room.

we arent done building but i would like to get fans in place so they can mud them in place. plus they could use some fresh air doing the mud work as well as painting etc. plan to put some kind of old shirt on the filters to use as a screen to keep that shitty dust out.

Hey Bro....Air exchange twice per minute is indeed moving ALL the air out of each room twice per minute , and yes "cubic" as in width x length x height.....but.....

Dewd....The lung`s gotta have equal cu ftg as the bloom rooms or you`re making a/c unis work harder , but hey....with 12KW you`ll be needing 5 tons of cooling to insure environmental control in deepest summer....not that you`ll need it continuously , but it`s best to have it and not need it , than not have it and lose a crop....and....

The purpose of the lung is to create "perfect environment" to be pumped in and sucked out of each bloom room , and then be reconditioned and used again continuously ftw......anyways....

Good luck and holler if I can help....

Peace.....DHF....:ying:....

i know its sort of not best practices for pest management etc. but i am going to have both rooms air running non stop so that should help make up for the smaller size of the lung room. i planned on at least 5 tons ac. maybe 2 3 ton minis that can go half power so they arent cycling on and off all the time. there will also be an air cooled co2 burner plus dehuey to make more heat. sometimes we get 65 plus degree days in the middle of winter so i want to go ac so i dont have to deal with 30s one day and 70s the next.

Thanks Granger and DHF

quick math i have 4500 cubic feet in my lung room. so that should be big enough as well right? if both bloom rooms are pushing 7k cfm through the lung room thatll be like a wind tornando in the lung room wont it? how the heck am i going to mount a 20 in fan and make it light proof? haha thats almost 2x as big as i thought i needed.

You guys were right. 2000 cfm per room wasn't enough. It gets hot half way in the room. The air flow was reversed as the heat is being pulled from the high end of the room.

There's 2 8in and a 12in exhaust fan in the sink room. In the middle of the flower rooms on north side of diagram is 3 8in intakes. Haven't wires 5 ton ac yet.

Guess I forgot about you last yr bro.....but yeah.....

The concept of air exchange twice per minute for growin dope was originally designed for smaller flip flop rooms that went on and off every 12 hrs so the lights off room helped supply increased RH and any extra CO2 the plants didn`t use lights on , while the lights on room provides warmer air to be remixed in the lungroom for closer lights on and off ambient temps that should never exceed 10 degree intervals during lights out....but.....

The concept actually came from greenhouses with those big ass gable exhaust fans on both ends with 1 pullin fresh air in and the other pullin hot air out up where all radiant heat gathered above the plants....anyways.....

Keep us updated once A/C`s installed bro.....Good luck and.....
