Hi.. I was just wondering if LST'ing is good to do to Autos and if anyone has done this with good results? Or is there not enough time to do this with Autos?

Thanks!

No reason you shouldnt be able to LST an auto and be successful. LST is exactly that, Low Stress Training, meaning you can use it all through the veg/flowering phase up until the day of harvest if you so wish.

I will be LST'ing an AF this time around just to see how she does,so far so good.

Once again, you should ALWAYS lst an auto!

krazycure... You look to have some great Experience LST'ing Autos... I am a complete Noob beginner when it comes to LST.. Could you give me some beginner steps or good links on beginning LST... I have been reading your post but its hard to tell by your Pics exactly how you used the pipe cleaners...

My questions are:

At what age(week) or highth should I start LST?

How exactly to do it using pipe Cleaners??? How to start out...

Is pipe cleaners still your LST choice?

Anything else you can advise on..

Thanks!

You can begin LST as soon as there are branches long enough to do it on. Don't try to LST single fan leaves attached to the main stalk.

I changed the links so you can click-through and look a little closer. Just attach some pegs or something at the base of the plant, the pipe cleaners will catch on them.

Is pipe cleaners still your LST choice?

No, I generally use soft flexible plant tape... it's hard to find for some reason. Most nurseries sell a velcro based one that is ok though...

Anything else you can advise on..

In addition to LST you should "tuck and hide", which just means make sure, daily, that older, bigger leaves are moved underneath smaller, younger leaves.

Thanks![/quote]

LST serves two purposes. The first is to force explosive side growth. Because you're auto, you can kinda forget about that one. The other is an even canopy. Every 6" from your lamp costs you half it's light. With canopy control, every bud gets equal light, nobody gets short-sheeted.
