thanks dr hydro here are 5 at 25 days and 6 at 15 days. the 6 are in organic and the 5 are regular potting soil. they are spread around my 2 acres untill i can determine the sex
At 4-5 nodes they'll start to show. The males typically show their little balls first. They'll also be taller than the females when they first start to show. As show above, the females will make little white pistils. The males grow a funny little acorn shape thing on the end of a short little stem from the crotch of the branches. It will start out pointing up and quickly start to point down as it gets bigger.
I'd put them into the ground or larger pots soon as they like lots of root space and they don't have a long time to make 'em! Every second counts with these things.
At first they'll seem like they're not going anywhere. About a week after the females show sex they'll almost double in size and keep on a good pace for a while. I've got a couple different phenos - one that gets to about 24" and another that gets to about 18". I've even got a little 6" (stop it!!!) So it's tough to say just how tall they'll get.
They're fun to grow as they're so quick. Let them go about 70-75 days. You'll be suprised by how much you can get from them.
I still am having trouble iding sex. I am down to 4 at 35 days a slug chewed a plant in half. I t also ate some leaves off of the small one on the right in the group of 4. I thought the two big ones on the left were females when I noticed some silver crystals on the small one on right that had leaves eaten. Am I correct in assuming the ones on the left are males and ones on right are female. I have them seperated. If so do i put the big female with big male for seeds. Also what about nutrients I killed them before any advice. I have them in larger pots now and I live in san diego so the weather is still ok
Iam such a newbie. Here I thought the two tall ones were male it was really hot today so this morning I put them on the side of the house where all the sun is. When I got home there were 5-6 small buds on the tallest one with a small cola and 4 on the smaller one and the two i thought were females have just gotten wider but not taller what am i missing did i miss the flowering completely what do I do for seeds someone help
"When I got home there were 5-6 small buds on the tallest one with a small cola and 4 on the smaller one"
By the looks of your last pictures, there is no way those plants have developed colas yet.
"what do I do for seeds someone help"
You can keep a male with your females and get seeded bud..
Honestly man, I'd skip getting the seeds this round and just try to identify your male and females, throw out the males, and get some bud. It appears to be your first grow and you really need to read some more information on growing.
When they do start to show sex, they normally have at least 4 sets of leaves on them.
There sex normally shows on the main stem first around the 3rd to 4th set's of leaves.
They will be right where the branch comes out of the stem on both sides.
You can take a microscope that is around 20x and make sure it has a light...... looking with a microscope helps if you can't see it yet.
A female will look like a pear shaped tear drop where a male will look like a ball with a finger..... think of it as your hand is closed and you raise your first finger just a bit where it is still curled.... that is what it would look like for male pre flowers.
I got a grow light from home depot and made a corner in the garage. Because the fire being on the back of my house and my neighbors house on fire tthere was a lot of smoke and ash not to mention the winds 50mph plus they got frazzled. I have 2 males and 2 females out of the first batch and 6 females out of the last bunch 48 and 38 days. The 38 day ones are bigger than the 48 day. The only difference was the last 6 i planted in organic soil. the two older females are shorter but much thicker only 6 inches tall. The younger females are 7 inches at 38 days. I had three plants that had dry leaves. I took them off was that the right thing to do. I figured it was because of the frost. The 2 males are about 19 inches tall and are flowering. Because it is the first i have got something to get old enough to watch I am letting the boys grow up so I can watch them. How far apart do they have to be away from the females. Is 30 ft good enough. If I wanted to get some seeds do i just place the female over to the males. Also do i have to remove one of the males or can I leave them be, I will have some pictures my camera broke during the fire
