Lower water temp vs. More air stones

So, my water temp is 25C and I've read that this decreases the amount of oxygen in the water.

But air stones increase the amount of oxygen so if I just have more air stones will that be better or worse than going through the hassle of chilling the water down to 20C?

The ability of your water to hold dissolved oxygen is directly related to temperature. Cooler water can hold more dissolved O2 than warm water. Simply increasing the amount of aeration in warm water will not appreciably increase the amount of dissolved O2.

20.5C is what I would use as max water temp. I hang my airpumps in the cold air-flow of my a/c unit. Cools 150 liters of reservoir to around 18C, then I have an aquarium heater to keep it warmed to around 19.7C.

Above 20.5C it becomes extremely easy for biological blooms to take over everything. Keep it cool. :tiphat:
