Low Oder Strains

Ive been growing the cheese for a while, but recently i had to move my setup, and the stink is spreading too far.

I have an inline fan and a 4" carbon filter but its not doin the job. I checked for leaks, but couldnt find any, the carbon filter is less than 4 months old.

I heard NL is a low oder strain, does anyone know of a strain that has little to no oder untill cured? I love stinky strains, but it seems i might have no other choice but to grow somthing different.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to eliminate the smell completely, or a low oder strain, PLEASE let me know. I searched the forum, but could not find much, any help would be much appreciated!!

Like I said, i love skunky strains, so one which retains its smell after curing would be great!

Thanks in advance

why not grow something that doesn't smell like marijuana? That's the route I've always taken in similar situations...something fruity (esp lemony) won't be obvious to anyone who shouldn't know.

edit...if you need true low odor NL is probably the way to go. I'm not a huge fan of it as it's not my preferred type of high or taste (or smell for that matter), but it's only odorless pot that has ever put me on my ass. buddy had a fat fully cured bag and you could stick your nose in only to catch a VERY faint flowery/perfumey smell,, not much better in the taste dept...but some really strong pot.

you could get a ozone generator, a company called UVONAIR makes em. if your not familiar- they use a small u.v bulb to make ozone, which is unstable, and when it bumps into a smell molecule it reacts leaving co2 and water, ozone shouldnt be breathed in for long periods so either get a timer or dont chill near your plants, but it will completely illiminate any smell.ozone naturally decays after 30 mins whether it bumps into other molecules or not. carbon filters are completely worthless compared to an ozone gen, and you can get small ones for small areas.

Thanks for the help! whats the average price of one of these ozone generators?

i think the smaller ones are like $150 but im in the u.k so the price you find em for might range a bit. the make small ones to go in the box and big ones to fit in the ducting, so long as the one you get is rated for the room size you wont smell a thing. good luck

ps Karmas jack actually has some really short phenos

I'd do some reading about ozone generators if anybody decided to get one. I wouldn't want one in my home.

And there was just a topic recently on this very forum with somebody asking about low odor strains, just scroll down.

ozone has a greater affinity with the haemoglobin in your red blood cells than normal oxygen, so if you spent too much time ie 45+ mins, or you had an over rated generator for the box size you had(so the ppm of o3 would be very high).if you get the right one the o3 levels will never even get very high because of the rate they are bumping into odor molecules. i have a big one and i dont chill in there with it on but i am still very healthy after various trips being exposed for short lengths of time. the ozone bonded with the haemoglobin is replaced slowly by normal o2 after a while, so even if you did spend a bit to long inhaling it you would need to be very silly to get harmed.

i do think some strains stink slightly less than others and some in more inconspicuos ways but if you get an o3 generator you can do what you want.

Anything in the white family imho, not much of a real weed stink. Kind of floral, but pretty bland smell wise, even when dry. Potent shit though, I've had a few phenos stink but the majority were very fruity/floral smelling and tasting, some less than that (referring to White Rhino (Nirvana))

I personally have not concerned myself with this yet for my upcoming dresser stealth grow..

1) I plan on just buying those glade plug ins and putting them at the door to my room.. and maybe another near the dresser to keep people distracted with good scents.

2) Also maybe when I want to open the dresser I can do something like open the windows
3)make popcorn
4)or make ANY other thing that when heated up lets off a scent--(this could be a thread in and of itself!!) like marinated chicken cooked on stovetop ( I could definitely do this every or everyother day to cover scent!) or some other stovetop thing
5) this heating pad I use for sore or tired muscles.. and throw in the microwave for 2 minutes it has a slight fragrance.. hm

6) I could pretend I like garlic and cook with that often! then everyone wont even want to use their nose anymore.
7)I could put my garbage can in my room right next to the dresser.. and put my laundry basket on the other side.
8)I could light a scented candle on occasion. (if scented plug ins arent doin it)

8.5)maybe having a humidifier on in the room would help? (or maybe it would actually carry smells more? i dont know..)

9)I could also try growing a real regular flower in a pot in my room (maybe I could find a regular flower that has some scent to it that people would smell and like?)

10)I'm still thinking of more and more ways.. Spray axe or some obnoxious odor in my room once a week?
11)I could spray Febreeze (non scented just the odor eliminator type) all around the entrance door to my room regularly (when I get home and leave).
12)I think they also have auto-time released spray scented things from Glade.. Maybe those would be good to leave next to my bedroom door during flowering so that they go off a couple times a day and cover the scent of plants

add as many as you guys can think of

Northern lights has been one for me that hasn't reeked like the others. Back before I had ever grown weed I was once handed a pill bottle full of bud and popped the top open. It had a slight floral scent but other than that was the most neutral bud I had ever caught a whiff of. I asked my buddy what it was and he said Northern lights. This was my first run in with the strain over a decade ago. It got me totally stoned back then and has been ever since.

To set things clear: the exhaust fan is to choose after the room size and temperatures and the filter has to have a somewhat bigger performance. I.e. If you have a room of 8 cubic meters and choose a fan with a performance of 250 cubic meters per hour then you should buy a filter with at least 280-300 cubic meters per hour and buy the according air hoses.

mandala seeds

Mandala has strains that specializes in low odor. Plus they are kick-ass! My favorite is Beyond the Brain, and 8 miles high. Huge harvests too! However, the best thing about Mandala seed besides their quality, is their low prices.

It seems most good ones stink, I’m afraid.
They need to breed a strain that is low odour while growing but becomes stinky in the jar.
