Low night temp/higher wattage or ideal temp low watts

I have a small grow room that's getting its intake from another room, due to cooler temps tuats the rooms are in, and I vent the 2nd room outside. The problem is that it's a 600w hps and I have to dim it down to 450w(75%) so it's not too hot, like over 85f. And the night temp is at 66-68f
I want to set it up to have its separate intake and outtake, and I know I would e able to get it to 600w without getting over 82f. But if I do that my night temp is going to drop to 58f.

What is better, ideal temps and lower wattage, or higher wattage and lower night temp?
I'm in 12/12 by the way.

I don't have an answer for you but in your position I would document conditions and experiment. With vpd you can have higher temps if you keep humidity in range.
