Low Humidity - Home Remedy Needed Please

You know its wierd, the outside of my HydroHut Mini the humidity is 43%. Inside the HydroHut it is 9%. This is approximately the average, and since I had problems with what may have been light burn, I stopped foliar watering to increase the humidity.

The leaves dont feel horribly dry or anything, I am at day 36 pics here This has always been the relative humidity range, and since have read that 9% is way too low. Whats goin on here? Should I be worried? Does the watering of the leaves really cause light burn?

THanks in advance!!! :bandit:

Put a tub of water in there with an aqarium heater ($20) and set it to 28-30*c. The water will evaporate and create humidity

A cool mist humidifier with a visable mist is about 30 bucks at walgreens.

A shallow, wide tray filled with hydrocorals and filled with water should do it - if the fan is partially blowing across the corals that will help.

Thanks all for the great ideas. I think the aquarium tank is a great idea, very clever!!

The tray hydrocoral tray sounds interesting. What does the hycrocoral do?

I think I will run to Walgreens ASAP for the dehumidifier unless you think I can find an aquarium tank or hydrocoral at Walgreens I think the humidifier is a great call....THANKS THE AMERICAN!!

If you have low humidity you certainly don't need a dehumidifier. It will take more moisture out of the air. You need to put more moisture in there. I'd be Folier spraying plants on a daily basis.

You don't need an aquarium tank. Just a normal bucket full of water and an aqaurium heater in it to heat the water. But The Americans Idea sounds like the easiest solution
I don't think they have those spayers here in Australia.

A bucket of water with a rough terry cloth towel for a wick, for more humidity expose more towel, for less humidity lower it into the bucket. Hang the wick from the ceiling. Save the expense and heat. No cost. The towel provides a greater surface area for evaporation, the bigger the towel the greater the evaporation. Keep the bucket full of water.

Crap, I think I mistyped it...the suggestion was for a humidifier not dehumidifier hehe...but I am curious..........how can i have the terry cloth towel on the ceiling and the bucket of water at the same time...

I am not too bright this early in the morning sorry in advance

Sir Sockeye Sir:

The bucket of water sits on the floor of your grow cabinet, secure a wire to the ceiling of the cabinet and suspend the towel from the wire into the bucket of water.

Don't feel bad about that one, take a puff and enjoy.
