Lost leaves and recovery

Hi there!

I started my first grow in December. My plants are under 250 HPS, temperature is around 26°C. They were in vegetation for 1 month and are they at the end of the first month of flowering. My nutrients are BioBizz Grow, Bloom and TopMax (around 0.7ml/L)
Strains are 2x White Rhino and 2x Jack Herer (GHS).

I did a stupid beginner mistake and grew them in very small pots for a month and a half, so they are very handicapped. Pic is attached (I have bigger pots now).

Two weeks ago leaves started yellowing and falling off. So I thought it was a N deficiency and added more nutrients. Things didn't improve so I put them in bigger pots. I think yellowing has stopped... But they lost LOTS of leaves, as you can see in the picture. I'm worried about bud production and its quality, I'm thinking it lost lots of its potency and grow potential due to lost leaves.

Will leaves grow back? What shoud I expect? Flowering time will probably extend due to stress, right?

They look really really bad.I'd take clones and start over.

The way I did it in soil was germinate via paper towel method,when taproot is 1/4" to 1/2" long I place them in rapid rooter plugs.Once a root system has emerged from the plugs I placed the babies into 1 gallon pots of FFOF.

After they out grow the 1 gallon pots (you should be able to lift the plant and pot by the stem with no budge) I transplant to 3 or 5 gallon pots of FFOF.

They look like they were seriously rootbound.

Huh, do you really think I should start over? I mean there are some buds in production... Pic attached of a JH top. I would be happy even if there is not much yield, just something... It's my first grow and I the waiting is soo hard

Oops,totally over looked that they just finished their first month of flowering...my bad.Just continue on.

But,might I suggest taking a few cuttings from the bottom and rooting them out and revegging them so next time you can grow them better next time around.Bud grown in optimal conditions (lighting,temperature,ample growing room in containers for roots) is always better than herb that had problems in any growth cycle.

I'm doing coco coir (in hempy buckets) for the first time and have run into a lot of problems,but hopefully they bounce back.If not then I'm going to take some cuttings from my mother plant and try my hydro shops "Pepsi Challenge" where they give you bagged Canna Coco that is pre hydrated and buffered and charged with Ca and Mg and Canna A and B nutes.And if that doesn't work for me then it's back to FFOF for me.

I understand the wait is tough,but be patient.

Iron deficiency another cause for yellowing/bleached leaves. Soak rusty nails in water....cheaper, easier than buying Ironite.

NEXT grow....put them in larger pots! Hey, you learn as you grow!!! Nice colas....you'll grow better next time!! Enjoy your harvest!!

Jack Herer is a 14 week strain, and it looks like you might have broad mites.
Better scope them.

So the information on the GHS official site that JH flowers for 8 weeks indoors is incorrect? How can that be?

And if I have broad mites, what can I do about it? Could you point me in the right direction?

From the looks of your pics, you prolly have about 2 weeks or less to go. From my experience, once the hairs start to turn, it's two weeks or less until chop time. Now does anyone else see ad's for porn on the top and bottom of the screen when they click on mcqueener's pics?

Green House Jack Herer is not real Jack Herer. Real JH is an equatorial strain, a sativa, that takes 14 weeks, give or take a week.
If it's BMs, it's too late to do anything now, as you are too late in flower. You need a scope to see them. !00X, at east. It could be root aphids also. Pull one out of it's pot and examine the roots carefully with a loupe.

I have learned to ignore what the seed seller lists as flowering time. Everyone seems to want something that finishes in 8 weeks or less and the breeders are just telling them what they want to hear.

Try harvesting one at 8 weeks and the others at 9 and 10. I bet you find the ones that went longer have more character and potency. That has been my experience anyway.

Yea, I was feeding them until 5 days ago. It's not that I want to harvest them as soon as possible, I just want to know how close I am... You know how it is, it's my first grow, feeling very impatient But if harvesting a little later increases potency, I will wait a little more

Have you ever considered growing perpetually? When your picking one crop another one is getting close to finish. For example with a 10 week strain, you start flowering one and five weeks later you start another one. Or with a 4 plant set-up, start one every 2 1/2 weeks. Then by the time your first harvest is dry and in jars it's time to pick again. I love it and wouldn't grow any other way.

I'd guess much the same. I don't ignore what seed sellers claim, I just regard their info as minimum flower time. GH lists their JH as 8 weeks, so I doubt that it'll go more than 10, likely less.

Whole plants don't need to be harvested for testing. I clip smaller buds, chop 'em up to smoking consistency, spread 'em out on a piece of paper to dry. The taste won't be anywhere near right, but the high is indicative.

Cutting too early is a sure way to reduced potency & yield. Wait at least 56 days from the beginning of 12/12 to even sample it.

Read the thread "a perfect cure every time" or some chunks of it to get ready to do a proper cure. It's worth the effort.
