Lost entire crop to bud rot, can I salvage the seeds?

As I'm sure many of you have been experiencing it's been 90F+ across much of the country for the past two weeks or so. In my area, in the last week, it's rained off and on, boosting the humidity even more. So I check on my guerilla plot today and every single AF has bud rot and/or mold. There's a few clear spots on some of the plants (these are the minority) but I wouldn't want myself or anyone smoking this shit. I had a single Sour 60 male in the plot, intending to pollinate both the Sour 60s and Blue streaks I had. This was accomplished. So now I have S60 x S60 and S60 x BS seeds.

But even w/ the bud rot/mold the seeds are still good, right? I can save 'em and they'll be viable next season? I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be...

Day 69... trichs were clear (I checked out of curiosity) and probably could've gone another week or so... what a bummer.

Sorry to hear man, that kills me, I've come across alot of informative stuff from you 'round here & I think in the outdoor strainguide thread as well maybe.

Anyways I have no advice for you, except to make some hash out of what's left, lol. OK, wait, I might have some advice, lol. I had some massive problems with a batch of seeds that smelled kinda rank, they would mold out the jiffy pellets and stall/kill the whole process. Soaking them in a 20% solution of bleach was the ticket.

More likely to try Hydrogen Peroxide than bleach, but you might be able to save the seeds. Sorry for your luck, hope you can salvage something.

First thing is get them onto some plates so they can start air drying. Even if the plants are not dry I would dig them all out and I don't think I would add anymore anything to them but getting them into a area that has a low RH and some air movement.

Take a few and squash them how do they look ?

Way wait let them dry a week or two and put some in a papertowel to see if they germ.

Already pulled 'em. I wasn't anticipating this (having to pull them, bud rot, etc) so I left them hanging on fishing line at the plot. They're off the ground where most of the moisture tends to congregate so it's better than nothing.

I managed to collect a few seeds and shoved a few in my pocket when I left and they look like normal seeds (brown, some speckling, pointed tip at one end, etc) however most of them have a "opaque waxy green" layer on them (You can see brown underneath). I suppose this is due to picking them "right off the vine"?

I think they should be good. For some reason I hadn't thought of germing a few to test their viability S a H. I will definitely do that in a week or so.

Yep....they are fresh and the fact they had something starting to grow on them.

Also if they crap out on you in the germ test you know now and not just right before you start your next grow. Off by a week or two and forget about that vacation you have plants to harvest.
