Looking for Strain Suggestions

I've been lurking around these forums for a while. The people here seem friendly and helpful. I was curious if anybody had some strain suggestions that fit what I am looking for.

I'm a medical cannabis patient looking for a couple of sativa strains with uplifting, creative and social effects with no nasty dysphoric couchlock. I've read through the forums quite a bit so I have a pretty good idea of what I am looking for but would love some more advice on which strains people have tried and liked.

Basically I am looking for two medium sized indoor sativa strains that take less than 14 weeks to flower and have at least average yield. High potency and yield is alway great but its not as important as the quality of the experience. I am currently very fond of super lemon haze and chocolate diesel to give you an idea of my tastes. Strains that are easy to train would be a plus.

I'm looking for one strain with sociable, happy, motivating and clear headed effects with no couch lock or burn out. I love strains that make me laugh. The VB x Thia looks really incredible. I was also thinking about Nep Jam, Tikal, or Gautamala for this?

In the second strain I am looking for a heavier and more psychedelic effect. I would love a strain that still has a nice positive vibe , but that will also send you soaring into a very different mental space. Intense, creative, mind expanding smoke that radically changes one's perspective. More clear and complex rather than muddy. The Panama looks like a great fit or maybe Bangi Haze or Congo? I know that sativas are generally very poor for pain relief but are any of these strains decent for it?

Some of aces longer flowering plants look beautiful but they are just a little too extreme in their needs. OE sounds nice but I fear the high indica content. Indicas are anything but soothing for me. I seem to have problems with most of the hybrids as well which is unfortunate since they are good for pain and inducing sleep, both of which are useful. I just wish they didn't wreck my mood, motivation and mind the way they always seem to. The only exceptions to the indica rule I have found has been hybrids made with DJ shorts blueberry strains. A few of those were amazingly serene and happy. They are still couch locking and dumbfounding but with no dysphoric funk. I wonder what makes the blue berry different. It might be interesting to cross a good blue berry with something speedy and motivational like bangi haze.
Any strain suggestions would be appreciated.

VB x Thai ought to suit you good. Something a bit more trippy would be the purple haze, but it's a very long flower time on its own so crossed with the Thai or panama may be a better match for you. I believe Dubi is working on a fem line of Panama x Purple Haze. Not sure if it will be the Purple Panama pheno crossed to purple haze or what. Sure to be an interesting line!

The VB x Thia really does look great. Although I haven't found many grow or smoke reports for it, all the ones I have seen give it glowing reviews. It sounds like a nice friendly sativa smoke that isn't impossible to grow indoors.

I haven't seen any Ace Panama hybrid seeds around for sale, but the panama itself looks like a great strain. I just hope its more clear headed and happy than muddy and confusing.

Yeaaa.. I may regret mentioning this but there does exist a cross that fits your needs perfectly. Dubi doesn't like to talk about it for certain drama has ensued in the past, so I'd suggest looking it up, Angola x Thai. There was an article in skunk magazine done on it by snowhigh. Closest thing to perfection in cannabis found I believe, for people like us anyway.

That double Thia and the the purple haze x thia both look so tasty. If I had a little more experience, space and time I would definitely go for one or both. Although that cross you suggested sounds great its definitely not on the menu.

Destroyer would be a nice option but its very pricey in the one seed bank I found that still had it in stock.

I would like to do a little pollen chucking at some point and create a cross or two. I imagine that the inbred lines such as Nep Jam and Panama would breed much more predictably than something like the VB x Thia? By "breed" I mean making some simple F1s and looking for a nice mother plant.

Welcome Hatter :)

Im glad you find the room friendly and kind.

Ok, for your first choice (fast flowering, indoor friendly, kind quality effect) i would highly recommend orient express and tikal; nepalese jam and bangi haze work great indoors too and they are even faster to flower but maybe the high is not so clear and friendly as the first two. Vietnam Black Thai and pure Guatemala are also great choices but maybe not so easy to grow indoors and they take more time to flower.

For your second choice, no doubt, panama and golden tiger fit what you are looking for, they are very powerful, long lasting psychedelic effect. To feel positive with this kind of strong trippy sativas depends a lot on your menthal background of the moment, if you have no worries in mind and you feel happy when you are about to smoke them, then panama and golden tiger will bring you to another planet in a positive state, but if your mood is not good then the strong psychedelic experience wont be enjoyable at all.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the suggestions. Tikal does look nice, kinda like a polished version of the Guatemala with some nice hybrid vigor thrown in. I haven't seen many grows with it but the people who have grown it seem to like it. Is Tikal stronger than Guatemala?

The Vietnam Black x Thia is going to be a slight pain to grow but I think it will be worth the extra effort and time. I have tried quite a few Thia crosses over the years and they are always nice. I have never tried VB but it sounds like its great. It looks like this cross is my best bet for finding something that flowers a bit shorter but still has some nice Thia effects in it. Would 600w be enough to flower this cross properly?

The Panama sounds like a solid bet. I think Golden Tiger might be just a bit too heavy for my tastes. I don't like sativas with a mean crash and some of the GT plants sound like they have a real bite to them. I would love to try the GT at least once, but I'm not sure it would be the sort of heavy smoke I would want to have on hand all the time.

From what I've read Bangi Haze can be pretty psychedelic, energetic and trippy but others report it as more clear and motivational than anything which is also nice just with a different purpose in mind.

Correct The Hatter,

Tikal is much vigorous, better yielding, better tasting and has more punch than pure guatemala but the clear friendly guatemala effect still prevails in the hybrid.

Vietnam Black Thai can br grown under 600 w lamps without any problem.

Let me know if you have any doubt. Best regards!
