I did a couple packs and was very impressed with the frostiness.
Odor was not very strong on most phenos...but still more sweet than skunky. Decent potency, germ rates and a great price too.
I've never tried the old ISS though.
But I think Peak may have actually used an ISS to make theirs.
Seems like I read that somewhere.

mjg- I'm gonna check out some of those Holy Smoke seeds - looked up what people were saying and it sounds like they might have some strains right up my alley. Got a couple freebies of cotton candy from delicious, so if you think they're sugar candy is good, I'll pop these babies tonight! Purple urkle huh, I'll have to search some of that out to see if its taste is what I'm looking for!
budsicles - that could be interesting, but the description you're giving me does not really sound like what I'm looking for, I want sugary sweet buds with a strong odor and taste. I'm currently running Next Gen's ISS and while it has a sweet grapefruit taste to it, I want a sweet candy fruit undertones sort of thing that is LOUD!
rjrom - does anywhere have Golden Goat seeds? I don't know if I could find a cut very easily...

I'm actually running a few seeds of your sweet skunk crosses right now(lemon cello, simply irresistible, hawaiian spice, and the GFxSS), and I've got one lemon cello going. Is she going to be sugary sweet? From the descriptions I had read I thought it was a more lemon-y hazey thing. Side note, should I pop a few more and pheno hunt with the lemon cello?

Purple Urkle is not even in the same hemisphere as ISS.
Next Generation is selling ISS again. I do not see how you could go wrong with Chimera though. Good luck in your search.

Lester - thanks for saying that - I had a feeling purple urkle would be a far departure from what it has been described to me as tasting, but I do not have any first hand experience with anything purple urkle.
HnG - That looks interesting, but I had heard some negative things about it being inferior to what most people consider ISS, have you grown them before? Is the taste incredible?

I'd vote for Peak Seeds Sweet Skunk too.
I'm a week away from flipping an iss plant. Was a freebie from artitude. Not getting my hope up, and I know it won't even come close to some of my other strains, but figured what the hell.

Has anyone grown peak seeds sweet skunk? From what I've read, I don't really see people mentioning any sugary/candy sweet taste, which is a main component of what I'm looking for.
I've grown out some fem ISS from Next Gen and it has a sweet grapefruit taste and smell to it, but it's still a bit musky. Not anywhere near the sugar/candied fruit taste that lingered in the air after smoking that I recall in the old ISS I used to get.
So from here, I've got a lemon cello I'm gonna put into 12/12, and I'll pop a few more seeds to hunt around a little. I think I have a couple reg next gen ISS, and I'll pop those too. I've got some of Chimera's other sweet skunk crosses and we'll see if any of those get closer to the taste I recall. Thanks for all the input everyone!

Robney I'm finishing off some iss from ng now. Probably a few more weeks. I veged after 2 weeks to keep them small. They are filling out very nicely. Good trich development but not the frostiest. Definitely a grapefruit smell. I will let you know how the go . I have just finished a cross that I made myself of really old school stock of ssh and c99 that I got from spice bros years and years ago. This stuff is LOUD, smells like ucalyptus and orange candy. It's the tastiest gear I've ever tried

I have a cut of sweet tooth thats very sweet tasting, very strong fruity pebbles smell and taste. It was given to me by a friend who just called it berry. However, several local growers and a dispensary owner from Colorado confirmed it was sweet tooth #3. Guy sat down on the couch, I fired a doobie and he said, " mmm, thats a great tasting sweet tooth". I did not choose the clone so I have no idea who the breeder was but I have had it at least 4 or 5 years now. Not a big yeilder but by far the strongest smelling stuff I have grown. Got a really nice relaxing stone to it as well. The ISS is probably more sativa with a little more head to it but the sweet tooth is STRONG. Maybe something to look at for the sickly sweet smell and deliciously fruity taste. Dont leave a ziplock bag of this stuff in a car as it will get ya busted.

n4w- Yeah! def let me know how it goes! That sshxc99 cross sounds incredible, sounds a lot closer to what I'm looking for! Might need to start looking at c99 crosses. How many did you pop to find that loud keeper?

) to recapture that. I'm running a few ss crosses from chimera, and I think I could find some next gen ISS I had left over to pop. I'll update the thread when I find something close!

Robney..sugar and fruity sweet...let me explain. The breakfast cereal "fruity pebbles" has a fruity background but you REALLY taste the sweetness..kind of like eating a handful of the dry cereal, if that makes any sense. Fruity background taste, really sweet like sugar or syrup all in your face, wrapped in a heavenly smell that is super strong. If it yeilded better, I would have at least 1 plant of it in every grow. As it is, I harvest 1 about every 2 months. Its my favorite personal smoke and all my friends ask for it by name. Its probably the best tasting strain I have ever tasted. I grew a pineapple cindy99 for a few years and it had a mild fruity taste and smell. On a scale of 1 to 10, the cindy was a 4 and tooth a 10 on smell and taste. Cindy was a nice yeilder and no ceiling to the buzz but the taste and smell just werent that strong like tooth.
Another strain that might be right up your alley is from beanho that uses the old Hawaiian sativa crossed with cindy or sweet tooth, dont remember which. Ive heard good things about it.
