Looking for a good male with recessive traits

just wondering if anyone has come across a true-breeding strain that carries over a minimal amount of traits to whatever its crossed to?
i know its a long-shot, but im looking for something that is good on its own, but wont add too much to a cross.

I was going to say DC,but after I re-read,I´m not that sure...I guess that you mean a stud that improve the whole herd?

I'm doing experiments with flodica for this exact purpose. It is supposed to be a very recessive indica pheno of an f3 flo. We'll see. Parvati strains have worked well so far. Hopefully deep chunk will be good from what I've always understood it is fairly dominant but I'm just getting around to testing my first crosses now and certainly raco has more experience breeding deep chunk than I do.

from what i've seen, i thought dc dominated the offspring of its crosses. i was thinking kodiak gold or maybe good old skunk #1.
i have a few of sam's beans but they are pretty old, im not sure if i'll be able to crack them. anyone know the last time sam did a skunk seed run?

good point cf, but isnt skunk an ibl? i've grown quite a few skunk crosses and it doesnt really dominate but it adds nice traits like yield and speed.

why dont you just pollinate a few females and see which offspring will most result in the wanted traits.

i've done quite a few crosses with kodiak gold and skunk...both are excellent for breeding....what traits do you or don't you want? i can tell you a few traits from breeding both quite a bit if your interested....peace

the traits i've found that carry over from the kg are normally tight rock hard buds, mold resistance, and earlier flower times.

the traits i've found that carry over from skunks are big yields and an added sweetness since none of the skunks these days are the real skunk.

i've found when you cross kg x skunk or skunk x kg you get big dense rock hard sweet mold resistant buds.....they make a killer cross but both are excellent for breeding.....the crosses seem to turn out better then the originals.

Right on! All strains im growin next year will be crossed by open pollination. Some will mostly be the same strain but some will be a mix. Definately lookin foward to the KG and HTC skunk grows, F1's, and and crosses! So much do I wish I was in the appropriate situation for an indoor grow. Just have to have patience i guess. Have some good practice with that already. :D
