The one time a decent movie comes on my cable goes out. My internet still works, but the damn cable box is spewing what might as well be satanic messages at me.

Has anyone read the book? The movie is awesome, but I wish they had stuck a bit more to the novel. The ending would have been much more of a mind fuck.

I'd never seen it before, so I was surprised to see it on TCM.

I didn't like it, way too cheesey.
I might be up for a remake if they do that some day, I just can't take a blatantly obvious mall escalator & a tinfoil (or was it mylar?) lined hallway, and marginal acting as serious filming....Might have been top-notch stuff in the 70's, but.......Meh, I'm really, really picky about that kind of stuff.

Is the book still in print? I think I'd rather read the book than ever see the movie again.

Ganga, I can't describe it good enough, but it's pretty tacky.....Storyline's great, but.....really sub-par to me on film......Download it & judge for yourself, though, don't take my word for it, it's just my opinion.

u cant expect CGI from movies that old. i am always suprised how people think things should be of current quality even though they were made almost 40 years ago. the idea isnt the special effects, thats not why its on TCM its the story. logans run is a great story in the fashion of 1984 and brave new world. but hey u like what u like...

See how I love cheesy movies. I'll admit they aren't master pieces, but they are entertaining. Niki, I believe the book is still in print. The copy I have I picked up used at Barnes and Nobles ($3 for a hardcover, why not), but the books still fairly popular. If you liked the plot of the movie, you'll love the book. The protagonist is much darker, there's no carousel (which humorous, doesn't really...make sense), etc. etc.

CLASSIC!

CLASSIC!

hehe, yeah, campy, cheesy ol 70s flicks that are now total classics. I dig it.
The fashions, the hairstyles, what the ancient people of the 70s thought the "future" looked like, vs what WE "advanced people" think the "future" looks like LOL. What? Ya mean we can't have hovercars AND brown courdoroy pants?!?!? :biglaugh:

Well, I'm off to caroussel! :pointlaug Seeya
