Limited Edition. What does it mean?

I like different and appreciate the odd, rare, elite things in life. You might see me flipping-off a bandwagon or catching people jumping off bridges.. With that being said...
What does 'Limited-Edition' mean to you?
Hoping to get a few responses from breeders who release limited edition packs. Of course, all answers welcome!:tiphat:

Great Q!
As I'm sure it really does mean diferent things to dif people!

For me it has little to do w the size of the run or the product itself exactly.
It has everything to do with wether it can b repeated!
Flower, extracts or seeds. If it's a test run or a one off, it's jst a small batch.
Once I toss the cuts or move the mom out of the nursery. Any associated projects are then "limited editions" to my library.

It does make them sorta unique, but it does not make them "special" or any higher quality than they were.

My thanx to all the breaders extractors and growers pushing forward w "limited resources" under persicution.

Big ups respect and happy growing!

it means only a small amount of a certain product was created and only small amount will be sold.
small being relative to the amount said product is produced and sold on average

It's a marketing term.

When used in the US, it's sometimes applied to high-margin products (producer makes more $$ ... adds $1K of Bling and charges $10K for it) and the "Limited Edition" is intended to evoke feelings of "AHA ! Special Value !"

I think the cannabis industry is more honorable/ ethical in their marketing linguistics.

So, limited edition means, rare, only making a few, the mother or father died, can't make any more.

Limited editions are meant to get your attention. For a limited time, Ibanez built an H.R. Giger edition guitar. Only a few thousand. They were not that expensive (except for a super limited edition with special options) and were basically a regular edition with a cool Giger graphic.

They are just to grab your attention, get you to look at their regular options and hopefully sell you something.

Like the Viper. You wouldn't buy one, but you would go to the dealership to see one. Then the salesman tries to get you to buy a Caravan.

:good:

According to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary(am I allowed to bring the dictionary into this?) Limited-Edition means "A special book, picture, medal, cannabis seed, etc for which only a small number of copies are produced and sold." Now that we have an idea what limited-edition means, how does LE apply to seed packs? Is releasing only 100 packs limited? 50 packs? 10 packs? Just looking for an overall consensus. All feedback welcome.
Also, which breeders are releasing LE gear? I know Bodhi, 303seeds, SinCity sometimes, Obs/UP gear is pretty hard to come by.. who else?
