Lighting Question

I have a old tanning bed, it is just the top portion and was wondering if anybody has ever tried to use these as a grow light before. It didn't get hot when I kept it on for over 30 minutes but I dont know if this is even the right type of light to use. Any input on this question is much appreciated.

That's an interesting question....And it certainly would make for an equally interesting test grow if you tried it.

UVB lighting was designed to help people with skin deseases and to give reptiles light and heat. I am guessing at a close range it is going to burn the plants up. I also bet the lights are expensive to run. You probably should do a little research.....
