LIGHTING QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how big

how big

depends how big. I'd day at least 600. You will need less for veg than you will for flower. 400W would more than cover you in veg. 600 for flower maybe. Again, depends how big the plants get.

600w is optimum/most efficient for indoor growing. 1000w = more heat to deal with.

Some will swear by the 1000... the bottom line is... both will work.

I recently dumped a 1000w for two 600w HPS.

so one 600 watt hps would do it for flowering 10 plants and a 450 watt mh would do it for vegging 10 plants correct. i just wanna get it right

How is this working, Mais? I was thinking of replacing 2 1000w with 4 600w!

bro as your canopy gets bigger(wider) you'll need to move around your plants maybe..to make sure they get lower light....but 450w MH should be ok for veg. i prefer more for ten plants because of the width of space it will end up consuming..but you should be fine. :joint:

I use 1000 watts Hortilux HPS to flower and four 40 watt floros (Chroma 50's) to veggie. The grow area is 4 x 4. Seems to me that the plants should be allowed to grow toward to light source, not ever turning the pots.

I honestly cannot tell the difference between my 1000 watter an the 600. Great bud either way. I can tell the difference with the light bill comes.

I'm not trying to be rude, but with a question like that I doubt you've done adequate research to get a succeful grow going. You can have ten tiny little rooted clones under a 150 watt hps or you can have 10 huge trees under 10,000 watts of light. Here is a chart to let you know how big you can let your plants get under certain hps lights: (click on it to make it bigger)
