Lighting problems

I am trying to get my bud room up and going for two mamas. The space is 2 deep by five wide by 7 1/2. How much light do I need? My girls are about 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall. I am growing in a sliding door closet. Anyway we need to know about the lights. Those girls are way to big for the veg room. Please help. Thank you for your help in advance.

I would't put in more than a 400w hps provided you can keep the heat down. Any thing larger will probably give to much heat. An air cooled fixture would benefit you in the area.Use dryer hose from outside the closet to the fixture then attach some hose to an exhaust fan from the other side of the fixture to vent the air out of the grow area.

rule of thumb... Only use as much light as you can afford to cool.

400 hps should sufficient, 600w would cover it for sure.

if you want to spend alittle extra time and money you could do what i do. and that is get two paynes of glass that are the same w & L of your room. seperate them with clear cabnet bumpers to make it insulated. that its 5/8 of an inch of glass that seperates the light from the room. make 2+4s or 3/4 plywood as a appron around the walls at the same hight. drop the glass in and exaust the light encloser. now you dont have to worry about the heat from the light at all. so a 600w will rock the house. get an ionizor from heaven fresh. about 70 bucks to put in the room to restructure the air. that way your not exausting your good co2 and invironment air. your probably lookin at 200 dollars to do this but no heat problems in the long run and invironmental control will be well worth it. if this does not make sense go to my gallery and i have a good desciption of the proccess. this proccess will work for any room. the object is to seal off any lights and heat with air tight encolsers and exaust them like a duct. no more need to worry about exausting the room while co2 is'nt running..waisting co2. waisting good air...best of luck man!!
