Lighting a 4'x8'

What are your thoughts on lighting the 4x8. 2x1000 or 3x600. I do a sog fyi. cooltubes, AC hood?

i run a 4x8 w/ 2 1000w HPS with Air Cooled Hoods...love it...3 600 would be fine just more expensive in the long run... for every 4x4 table 1000w is good

whats up dusto long time no talk. so how you been man the p91 cut make it both our took a shit on us.I still got that bullrider but haven't done anything with it yet.

on your ? I would go with the 3 600 I like the coverage better. maryland hydroponics has 600 digital ballast for $119.

ugu - word man. Both of the ones i got took a shit too. A friend of mine thinks they were fucked from the get go, sick or something. You still have the bull. You should try it and see what happens? School's been kickin my ass for a while now.


Here's why I ask. Ive done sog before with 1K hps and you get a hill effect. The plants in the middle get bigger and end up taking light from the outside ones. So i was thinking maybe the 600's would help that out a bit.

yah 3 600 are better light coverege but 2 1000 do fine... just gotta keep em higher...when it comes to bulb changes ( every 60-120) days of 12/12 the $$$ comes in...anyways im just a firm beliver in the 1000''wers.... i keep em about 18-28 inches away depending on age of plant...

oh sorry dint see you were sogging...yah 3 600 would be better... you dont have the height controll with 1000's as you do with 600...its just raw power!

Check out Pico's test runs on various lights, ballasts and hoods. Its in grow room designs. I am running 4 600's, inline on a 3'6' X 12' scrog. Whoop ass colas. The hoods are super-sun2's, vented to outside.
