Lighter Green Growth After Transplant!

Transplanted plants from seed, slightly rootbound, into 5 gallon pots with excellent drainage. Added pearlite and pumice to Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting mix...

No nutes, just seaweed extract and molasses into tap water for the transplant.

Some plants seem fine, others exhibit noticeable pigment change in newer growth, from darker green to a lighter green.

Could it just be initial shock from transplant? I don't know the pH of the soil as of right now.

I don't have pics either....

Any responses would be helpful!

Beez, do they look something like these. It's normal new growth, it may get a little cool as well. Usually see this the next day after a water/feed.

It sort of looks like that , but it is more of, shall we say, an "inconsistent" array of greens, from darker to lighter and seems like all the new growth is coming out that way.... we are thinking our water here is super alkaline, a lot of TDS...

Fox Farm is supposed to have enough good stuff in it so you don't have to use nutes right away...

Or should we be feeding already? the plants had excellent root systems when transplanted....

they went under a 600 watt HPS...

could they just be a little shocked by the light?

Any one else have any ideas?

thanks for the help!

WHat light did they go from to the 600 watt?

I hate to say it, but sirgrass is actually very correct on his post, but without pics we could not say if that is what you are showing unless you provide pics.

BUt yes, plants can show lots of stress when you stick them under stronger light; a lot of tmies you need to wean them into the bigger light; especially since you just transplanted you put a lot for the plant to try to adjust to at once which is not good.

FFOF is rich, if your plants are showing improvement, do not feed, organics are slow releasing and since you just transplanted, there is fresh soil fresh nutes although not a lot, but wait a week at least before you feed.

Light green apexes could also be a sign of a vigorous growth. If you just repoted them, then it means they liked it !

ive herd the cure is to take the canas off and wash the white plastic with stong dish soap and water... good soak, in the tub maybe... one of my buddies got his HH to stop doing that.

you could also just leave one of the 'doors' open...
they have the HH's on sale 40% off, even with the known problem ima get one...or two... just wash the hell out of them...lol
