light???

i have a 600w hps w/ a reclector... no housing.

it has 2 adjustments for the bulb location with-in the reflector.

adjustment A:

reflector----------> ________________
bulb---> <-----000000----->

adjustment B:

refloctor---> ________________

bulb--> 00000

adjustment A has 4 settings 1,2,3,4 that adjusts the bulb from side to side it comes factory at 1 which puts the bulb close to one side.

adjustment B just has three heights adjustments top, middle, bottom .. this adjustment is the distance the bulb is away from the reflector.

what shoud i set them at????

Put the center of the bulb in the center of the reflector about an inch away from it.

you see i was going to do that originally..

but i noticed that then the ceramic sticks way out into the reflector when i center the bulb, and it seemed like it would block light??? then i said to myself "self you should talk to people about this".... so center it and block sum light ..... or keep it where it is and make the proper adjustments???

You won't lose any noticable amount of light from the socket end of the bulb...don't sweat the mogul socket being in the reflector.
