I have a thousand watt LED light my question is how far should my plant be from the light in seedling, veg, and flower for ideal groth .if anybody can answer me it would be very much appreciated or drop me a link thank you. O ya and also for auto flower because I'm starting that next

Hey bro your led manufacturer should have a general recommendation in their manual. It's a good place to start, but each strain will react differently so over time it's best to learn to read the plants and react to them.

The following is a general recommendation:

  • 1000W - 26-36 in
  • 600W - 18-26 in
  • 400W - 12-18in; and
  • 300W - 9-13 in
These are ball park figures as APH allured to. Each strain is a little different and over time you will learn to dial 'em in. Because of some of the inconsistencies between A and B (lights), using a PAR value is by far a better measure:

  • clones - 100-200 Umol
  • cutting/seedlings - 60-90 Umol
  • Veg - 300-425 Umol
  • Flower - 700-1000 Umol.
Now I understand that not all folks own a PAR meter, nor do all folks want one. IMHO a grower without certain tools (PAR meter, PH and/or TDS meter. Without 'em it is akin to a Dr without a stethoscope :)

A good PAR meter costs in the area of 300$ which I think is why most people don't have one. When the prices drop to the 50$ range I think everybody should have one. But yeah I agree 100% Switcher.

You don't have to spend $300 for a PAR meter good buddy, just like we don't need silver plated PH meters.

Sweet, can you show me a PAR meter, not a lumen meter, for a good price? Cause I had bad googlefu or something :D

Get the footprint you want, at least. Like suggested above for different age plants, and intensity.

That is a 100 watt light. You'd be better off with some compact fluorescents than that piece of junk.

Why say that? CFL's have the lowest output of any 'grow light'. I'm not arguing for LED, but I certainly wouldn't argue for CFL either.

Is it this one? https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71AL52DRb1L._SL1299_.jpg if it is the charts are on the amazon page. They seem to be slightly different though, specifically the spot diameter at each height.

I also am not sure what the measurement is on the left side on the second chart, probably lux. And while marketed as 1000w, the draw at the wall is closer to 110w-120w, if that is the correct light anyway :)

IMMHO folks should spend a minimum on 4-6 months on SERIOUS research before they pull the trigger on any equipment. There is no way in HE dble hockey sticks that light puts out 1000W, price point!! Mama said, if it looks to good or sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't. In this particular case, a cheap Chinese knock off.

... which is somewhat indicative of a 300W LED

Your wish is my command! https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0055F59LA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Considering the price of an oz locally, that is a good investment :tiphat:
50% of the reviews for that are 1 star. That's a bad product bro. If you are going to spend that much spend the 250-300$ for a decent one. Or if you really want spend the 2,000$ for a real spectrometer and compare them :D Most "PAR" meters are just lux meters with a filter in place, they still weight yellow light too much.

I've grown and seen grown some very good mj with cfls. Especially the 105 watt ones. 4 of those would kick the crap out of that cheap chinese LED.
