Has anyone ever used a darkroom vent to share enviroments with different light times 1 room 12/12 other 20/4 .I imagine if you can develop film with them they would work ,but 1000 wat lights have a way of penatrating just wanted some real world experiences .thanks

Well I will find out myself ,but if anyone has tried it I could still use the input ,till i cut 8x8 inch holes in my walls .

Didnt wanna start a new thread to ask another equipment question so I thought a bump and a new question were beter.

Has anyone used a panasonic whisper line and S+P inline ? which do you like better .Noise, reliabilty, air flow are what i care about price and size are of no concern to me. These will be for new flow design I am going to draw air from outside through super sun 2 and out .I wont be using these on carbon scrubber ever I have 2,6 inch vortex HO fans for that

Another question .....in your experience can either of these suck a spring loaded damper open without too much power loss,or is a solenoid damper required .I am getting 2 of what ever I decide on the 240 cfm range and they will be cooling a 1K light each

If I dont come up with a fan answer I may just get both and answer my own question Thanks Happy HolliDaZe

Hey Bozo...

Check with Bulenath (150w or 600w clubs).... I know he has some experience with the Panasonic whisper fans.

I've used the 8x8 darkroom louvers on my little 150w cab. Had one between the veg and flower area. I painted the louvers white, then black, white, then black etc.
It managed to stop the veg light (CFL) from leaking thru to the flower chamber. If your using 1k's....I don't think that any amount of paint will stop the louver from "glowing".

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply .may i ask what painting it white did to help .Did it not block 150 watts the way it came out of the box?

After I had installed the louvers, I noticed that with the lights out (completely dark room...grow lights on in cab) that the louvers would "glow".... I removed them and painted them with several coats of black and white paint. This helped stop the glow. I was concerned about light getting thru into my flower chamber and possibly causing hermi issues.

Yes, they will work out of the box.... Lots of growers have used them "stock" without any problems. I was just concerned that the small amount of "glow" that I noticed might cause me problems. They do work very well, but I was a bit anal about it and wanted a completely dark flower chamber when the grow light was off.
