light mover efficiency ?

hello fellows,

I used to put 600W per square meter but with a light mover can i put 600W per 2 square meters and harvest nice buds ? its for a breeding project i try to maximise plants numbers and consumption. :)

for breeding is a different story but I read from a member on here that it is actually negative for production rooms because it forces plants to move themselves and angle themselves correctly to the light again, which in turn is wasted energy... idk i can't explain it as good as him but like I said if you are just trying to fit as many plants as possible to look for traits or just do a big ass seed run you will prob be fine...

hit up bobblehead and ask him his opinion on them... that is where i heard the above ^ but like i said he explained it way better...

obviously without a side by side there is no definite answer...

try it bro... whats the worst that could happen?

I used a light mover for couple years. At first i had it moving about 3ft total but it made the plants shade so much on opposite side that it confused plants. Its like the sun going in and out from cloud coverage. Then i made it move only 12 inches total, 6 inches from center both ways. That way it would just change the angle of light alittle but not confuse plants. In the end the light mover got taken down and another light hung.

I recommend buying more light instead of using a light mover...

thanks for your experience trichster i think i will give light mover a try anyway to see how it perform on a few square meters first.

on an another subject i was surprised to see all my posts in this thread rated negatively so i checked who was the friendly member involved in this love act and i was very happy to read i was treated of TROLL by a member named LAION, so i don't know you my friend but i advise you to find a good doctor maybe two and i wish you all the happiness and love you deserve :)

Light Movers are great and will allow you to cover twice the space with the same light as you can get your light much closer (3") to the canopy then a stationary light...

Light Rails are the best, I would stay away from the chain driven as they make a lot of noise and the chain can foul ...

Here's a link/video about Light Rails... http://www.lightrail3.com/

Well... talk is cheep so here ya go...

This 400w is covering and area 3' x 6'...

This is my second mover. Here in the "Dirty South" wattage is a precious resource, I just can' exceed my current draw. I wish I could add another light!

I move two 1k's and two 600's, so far my girls love it.
For ME in MY system it's the only way to go.

I also utilize sunpulses splitters. 1 1,000 watt ballast split into two 600 watt hangin vert and bare.

Two rails, 4 bulbs, 2000 watts draw. 2400 watts of light. Approaches 4000 actual usable light.
I do not rec these for flower ( no matter what the rep says)

Here in Spain there are a load of cheap Chinese copy Lightrails flooding the market. They are rubbish and fail quickly, causing a lot of problems.

Buy the original, 25+ year developed version of Lightrail 3 [or 5] and you will not go wrong.

I think it is the distributor HortiTech in Valencia is to blame, their catalogue is full of shit copies of products they appear to have been shown, not bought, but had copies quickly knocked up in China.

Light rail + Adjust a wing reflector with heat shield seems a very good choice to me, you can put the light closer of the plants.
