LIGHT LEAK QUESTION / THEORY

High everyone, first a question followed up by logic. I added another light to my bloom room, and like a pro I forgot to change the lights timer from "socket" to "timer", keeping the light on 24/7. This happened for 2 days.

Q: will keeping the plant in extra darkness be a wise choice? Or shortening the light period from 12-12 to 10-14?

Logic: photochrome far red is converted to photochrome red during the dark cycle, the lack of Pfr from lack of light signals the plant to flower. This is my thought process on how to un-stress my girls and save them from growing testicles.

Thanks everyone.

how long had they been flowering before you put extra light in?

i believe auxins or hormones are affected by the spectrum and as it becomes more red (lower sun on horizon) the plants ability to create/store these is stressed and flowering hormones become dominant.

long hours of bright light inhibit this dominance.

also, as the sun gets lower on the horizon the day length shortens, exacerbating stress.

taking plants from 18/6 or 20/4 directly to 12/12 or 11/13 may cause a form of withdrawal for the plant as its hormones (sic) change to accommodate that schedule.

this stress may or may not cause confusion manifesting recessive gene expression that exhibits male tendencies.

jmo. good luck.

Ty for the response. I'm researching auxins/ hormones right now.
My girls were under two 600hps and one 6500k flouro' for 23 days.
Another 6500k flouro's fixture was added on day 23, on 24/7 for
36-48 hours. It's a sativa dom strain that finishes around 70 days.
Again Ty for the information, any info helps (to the rest of you) ;)

The conversion of far red to cancel the day's accumulation of cherry red is a daily process, it does not rollover any extra minutes to the next night.
Putting the plant back to the schedule it will be using will cause the least additional stress.
What the two days of 24/7 light does depends on the strain, putting it back to 12/12 immediately gives the best odds.

Ty. I did change from 12/12 to 11/13 so I will just keep it as it is. I'll update if they Bernie or not. Thanks guys.
